Gah, LJ sucks yet again. I've been attempting to make my anti-hotlinking scripts work, which means I need to test to see if images will load on LJ. Forget that, LJ itself won't load! *kicks it*
For the first time ever, I was sent an email saying I was near the limit of my bandwidth. EEP! I've never even been close to using a third of it! Looking at my stats, it appears that well over half of my monthly bandwidth was used on the 19th... the same day I released the BT of the Naruto sexy game. Eeep. (Funny, while more people BTed each of the Whistle files, I never got a bandwidth crunch then...) Luckily we're near the end of the month, so hopefully I won't go over before the 31st...
(Note to all who do hosting on Catlove: If this isn't BT related and I get into another crunch near the end of the month, I'm going to have to reduce the number of people I give space to. Sorry in advance. I'm not kicking anyone off right now, this is just something to keep in mind that might happen in the future.)
*does a happy dance* Not only did I write a drabble today, it was one of those magical times when you finish the darned thing, you've said everything you wanted to say, and you're at *exactly* 100 words! That always amazes me!
Title: Snow Falls

Notes: My first post here, so it's fitting it's for the Catching Up challenge. I used a couple different ones: #3 Hidden Secrets, #4 Fugitive, #6 Freezing Flames, #7 Sacrifice, #9 Afterlife, #11 POV, #21 Character Death. Whew! (For Sacrifice and Fugitive it's easier to see the elements if you know the theme/characters' backstory.) Oh, and the first dozen words are a quote from the series.
He was born in a village where a lot of snow fell, but Haku didn't mind cold weather. Emotional coldness, physical coldness... those were different stories.
After his father learned his secret, Haku fled through the snow. Fell in it, slept in it, left his dead family and ruined home behind to be covered by it.
The streets he ended up on were snowy, but when Zabuza arrived, he was somehow untouched by the snow.
Death came quickly, not painlessly. Alone once more... but not forever. Zabuza was steps behind, and as the snow drifted down, joined Haku in death.
I hope it's not sappy or melodramatic or anything... It's kind of fun to be writing again, I shouldn't have stopped for so long.
The co-worker is out again today. Grrr. Being alone sucks. Double the work, double the stress. Yuck.
Last thing: This is probably a long shot, but does anyone have an example of an .htaccess file which blocks everything but a couple domains? At least one of the domains has subdomains, which is what keeps causing me to fail.
I want to permit: catlove, *.livejournal.com, and *.google.com. If I toss out the wildcard and use "thistle_chaser.livejournal.com" it works, but for some reason the darned * doesn't make it accept any subdomain under that domain.
I've been googling and banging my head against it all day, but nothing is working.
