(This might be a repost? I thought the post went through earlier tonight, but then it was gone... Luckily the client saved a copy and I sent it through again. Sorry if you see it twice.)

Holy cow, Witch Hunter Robin has gotten good. Dark and complex and great! ...and even Harry Potter-ish, which really shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

Warning: Spoilers for eps up to 14. If you're intending to watch the series (and you should!) don't open the cut.

Edit: The translators changed the spelling of his name from "Amom" to "Amon". Editing here to reflect that, since I like Amon better.

So apparently all the witch hunters are witches, huh? (Did I miss something in the beginning saying that, or were we supposed to just assume they all were, or was it supposed to be a surprise?) I liked how they used the 400 year old witch to point out the hypocrisy of Robin's (hunting) actions. I love (and hate) how the church seems to have the final say/most power in Hunter circles. It makes sense within the story, but man. If witches really existed, could you imagine the church having any power over them? Gah.

That leads to the tie-in with HP foo: There seem to be quite a few witches, may of them having pretty bad ass powers. Why in the world do the humans have the upper hand? Sure there are tons more non-witches than witches, but to have all that power and to let the "muggles" have control over not just you using them, but your LIFE? Sheesh... Bad situation for the witches.

So in eps 13-14 we're seeing these attacks on Robin. I'm betting that the church is behind it (since that one guy noted that she's now enjoying using her powers... But! But! But! Amon is in on this, too! Leading the attacks, though under someone's orders. I believe it was the boss who was kicking and beating Amon in the end of 14, but I didn't get a good look at his face...

I just keep shaking my head and gah'ing. How did the witches get themselves into such a bad situation? They can be "tame" and work for the "muggles" for as long as they're useful, then killed without reason at any time. And any witch that isn't useful? Dead. (Or stuck into storage, same diff.)

If Amon is that much of a lackey to the humans, I understand why he's so sad looking all the time... I'd say he's betraying his own kind, but then they all really are... he's just doing it more than the other hunters.

Sheesh, what a situation to be in...

I've had ep 20 of FMA downloaded for a couple hours now, but I can't stop watching Witch Hunter Robin to check it out. Eee! Man, I love this series.

Edit: Ep 15. EEEEK! If what I think happened really happened, I've never seen that happen in any show (anime or not) before... GAH! Darned Survivor, I have to stop watching for an hour to catch that. Man, when am I going to get to watch FMA? I guess that depends on how long it takes me to finish Witch Hunter! Sheesh, what a great series. Wow.
