People in my head, but not at their desks

I'm alone at work today, which suck ass. I can only answer one call at a time (of course), but two or three kept coming in at once in the 8-9 hour period (and two came in while I was trying to type that last sentence). I took more calls from 8-9 than I usually do in a full day. Darned sick cow orker...

Sometimes I wonder how non-MUSHers feel... or maybe I mean 'how sane people feel'. I have more personalities than my own in my head. My PC has been really really quiet lately (which isn't a good thing), but I have two NPCs (including one dead one! Go away! You're over and gone!) riding along in my mind with the real me. It's odd to have three personalities looking out my one set of eyes. I don't think I've been "alone" in my head for years. Seems almost like that would be lonely now...

Oh, sleep update: I didn't sleep perfectly, but good enough. I eventually fell asleep an hour and a half after going to bed, and while I woke up five or six times during the night, at least I went back to sleep quickly enough. Didn't wake up feeling exhausted, which was nice.

That's interesting. I don't have my characters in my conscious head like that (though I suppose they have to be drifting around somewhere in that grey matter). My problem is more with my alter-egos. Used to just be the Firebyrd in there, which wasn't too bad or surprising. She's me, only a lot more me in a lot of ways. She's smarter, has a worst temper, etc. Now, however, I'm finding I have a Gyarados in my head, and that feels really weird.

Are we crazy? We sure sound as if we are.

Alter-egos is a better name for your staff-alt type thing (I tend to call them 'OOC characters', since at least for me, Thistle-Chaser is more like a character than the real me).
