Walking first: I seem to recall hearing from a couple sources that exercise supposedly makes you less hungry or not hungry? Is that true? If so, I'm some sort of a freak then, because just a minute or so after I finish walking (however long it takes for my breathing/heart rate to get back to normal) I want to eat everything and anything. I thought it was a fluke at first, but it's happening time and time again.

Speaking of which, I was so hungry this morning that I actually got breakfast on the way to work. (Usually I just eat fruit and maybe some nuts or a protein bar.) It was just eggs and cheese on a roll, but I swear that it tasted like the best food I ever ate. It must have been swimming in butter or something, it was so rich! I could have died a happy woman right there.

Fruits Basket: Recall how I said I always try to guess animals, but I've never been right yet? Since Akito wasn't the snake, I took a look at a list of the zodiac animals and decided the only option left for him was tiger. Ha ha! I was wrong again! *snicker*

The only animals that we don't know for yet are Horse, Pig (I think? No, wait, there was mention that someone was the Boar), Rooster, and Sheep. If he's the Rooster I'll fall down laughing and never get up. Sheep would be pretty bad, too. Horse would be okay, I suppose... but I'm starting to suspect that he's not an animal at all. (But of course I'll just be wrong again! Hee.)

Re exersize, everyone is different. Some people are less hungry when they exersize moderately, because exersize releases something in the brain to control hunger. Farmers who want to fatten up their cows don't let them move at all. In my experience, exersize does make most people hungrier, often beyond just the extra calories it would have burned; it just gives many people more of an appetite. Don't worry about it; exersize is good!

I've only watched the second half of the first season of FB, so I can't discuss that intelligently.

There already is a Horse and maybe Sheep~

I'm always starving after excersize too.

Horse and Rooster never show up in the show. They're in the Manga though.

Ah, okay. I'll probably check the manga out once I finish the series.

I'm always starving after exercise. I mean, think about it - of course it makes you hungry, you've just burned calories and your body wants to make up for it! But it's true that after extremely intense exercise, you won't be hungry right away. Like, I used to do this bike race that was 1.25 miles up a 700-foot hill. At the top I was ready to throw up, not eat.

That does make more logical sense -- I wonder why I was hearing it otherwise?

Oh well, thanks!

I'm always hungry after excercise. But usually I have a hungry feeling because I'm thirsty (weird, but true). Two glasses of fruit juice and I'm back on track.

That sounds like it could be. I'll try starting with lots of water first. Thanks!

Like another poster, I'm never really hungry if I've exercised really hard, but if I only exercise lightly, I get a little hungry.

Part of the reason is probably due to the fact that, at first, you are burning up glycogen in your muscles, and your body probably interprets this lack of muscle sugar as a sign that you need to eat. I do know that your body more efficiently absorbs and replenishes this glycogen if you eat something carby in the first half hour after exercise.

I would stick to whole fruits (not fruit juice) or salads if you're going to do that, though.

Raisins (the candy of the fruit world!) have been doing the trick for me. I eat a couple (like 3-4) before I walk, then a few more after, and it seems to balance everything out (or at least trick my brain).
