Weekend catchup
Jul. 19th, 2004 09:14 amYay Monday: No AC at work (AGAIN). Hot outside (85-90's). 200 people and 500 or so computers in a building with every window and door closed. Wow, I love my job...
Anyway, the weekend. Very tired. Sleep at night doesn't seem like a good idea anymore (surprise!). However, learned/discovered something from the fire that I should have known already: Drinking is stupid (I knew that part, I just didn't believe it as religiously as I should have). Taking sleeping pills is stupid. Why? Next door neighbor didn't exit her apartment with all the banging and yelling of 'FIRE! FIRE!'. She didn't hear the noise of eight fire trucks and crews of men yelling. She didn't hear any of the sirens. Why? She was drunk. What if the fire had been worse and her apartment was burning? She could have died, all because she was too drunk to wake up. I'll never, ever take another sleeping aid again, no matter how tired I am. I want to sleep lighter from now on, not deeper. Never ever deeper.
Weight-checking was pushed back a day (I forgot on Friday! How very surprising! ...not. :) ). I lost five pounds again this week. Very odd, since I was worried I might not lose anything this week. I've discovered something interesting: My mental portion control has reset. When I want something sweet, I have a piece of chocolate the size of the last digit of my pinky. (I have a bag of those tiny little chocolate Easter eggs. I've been snacking from that same bag since Easter! That's how infrequently I have chocolate now.) When I want chips, I get one of those really little kids-lunchbox sized bags. In the past, I could have eaten a whole full-sized bag of chips or chocolate in one sitting!
FFXI went well, all things considered. We did (and succeeded at) Rank 4 on Saturday night. I died, but got a raise and at the end of the night had more XP than I started with. Leathercrafting is going very well -- I hit 54.4! While it took a crapload of money (over 300K for the 4.4 levels above 50, I'd estimate), I'm happy with the speed. I have 42K guildpoints handed in (need 100K for the apron). I'm curious if I'll hit 100K points or level 69 first!
On Sunday I watched a lot of anime (trying to catch up with everything!). I watched all the subbed Prince of Tennis eps (Four or so that I hadn't watched yet. Hee! Such crappy tennis but such wonderful gayness! Man, I love that series!), FMA #39 (? I think 39? Whatever the latest one was. Plot progress, but mostly I was "eh" about the ep. I felt the same about the last one, too.), Naruto #90 (90? The latest one. Love love love the series!), and a Naruto special ep (something about a red four-leaf clover. Sort of stupid but cute). Oh, and a couple PMK eps, too. I'm trying to get that series re-watched so I can delete it (it's already burned). I deleted things I haven't felt like watching in months: Gantz, Monster, and... Az-whatever Baby. I stopped downloading those series long ago, and it was time to delete the remaining eps -- if I've not wanted to watch them in months, that's not likely to change in the near future.
It wouldn't be so bad to be at work, if only the AC worked! *hot*hot*

Date: 2004-07-19 01:16 pm (UTC)Woo FMA! Are you enjoying it? (And it only gets better and better!) And yes, Prince of Tennis is known for The Gay almost than it is for the tennis! It is the gayest thing I have ever seen. It's amazing, funny, and just so so so gay. :)
Mmm, popsicles! I even have some in the freezer at home! Just four more hours till I can have one. *sniff*

Date: 2004-07-19 02:46 pm (UTC)Eeeee...PoT. It's the UBER-GHEY of shonen anime, cause honestly, who watches it for the tennis? Anyone? [watches the room go silent] ^_____^
Must find a place where they have the torrents without them being in one big batch. My comp can take individual big files now (you should see my jrock PV collection. ~_^), but not a H00J file o' death showing up bit by bit.
Mmm, now I'm craving popsicles. Darn you! :D

And when one of the boys is seen dining with someone else, this much: http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/animescreenshots/takadate2.jpg
*snicker* And those are just a few of the many, many, many examples.
