Funnel Cake Adventures
Nov. 16th, 2002 02:35 pmAfter cooking, deboning, and cleaning up from getting 40-something chicken drumsticks ready for Little Miss Kitty's meals next week, I set about on my quest to make funnel cake!
Good things:
- I didn't burn my apartment down.
- I didn't poison myself.
- I didn't end up putting my cat into the fryer by mistake.
Bad things:
- Gods, my apartment smells bad. Oil. Frying. BLECH. I had vowed never to use the fryer again for just this reason. Anyone who lives in this area want it? If you'll use it, you can have it!
- The funnel cakes came out okay, but mega-greasy. Not good enough to ever make again, or to finish up the batter and make more, but I did eat two of them.
- Now I have to clean up the fryer, which is a pain in the butt. You can't soak it in the sink, which makes cleaning out something that held oil in it a pain.
- Did I mention how bad my apartment smells? :P
So I'm glad I made them (see? I can cook a little!), but I'm feeling mighty icky now. Too much grease makes my stomach say blech. And that the apartment smells of it, even with two windows open, helps not at all.
