Giant fish lips!
Sep. 22nd, 2004 08:52 amIt's funny to have to make an effort not to walk every morning, but that's how this week has been. I went out Monday and Tuesday, so I made myself not go today. Instead, I watched Naruto ep #101! *falls over dead* What a great ep! So very funny! And the more I watch the series, the more I appreciate the music in it -- to use the deeply sad and so serious themes in this silly ep made it especially amusing! And the ending! Heeee!
So that was a great start to this otherwise eh morning. It's 8:30 and yet again co-worker is not here. (We start at 8.) He's annoying the heck out of me: Comes in very late, takes multiple breaks, long lunch, etc. Same old story!
Stupid east coast! *shakes fist eastward* Because of you and your hurricanes, game shipment to the west coast has been ruined! The FFXI expansion pack was out yesterday, but because of you and your storms we haven't gotten it yet! Some stores don't even know when it will come in! It could be a week or more! Grrr.
While running around trying to get the expansion pack, I also attempted to pick up a copy of the new Pokemon game, but I was thwarted. It was sold out everywhere! Grrr. The longer I have to wait for it, the more I want to play it!
Since I was low on oatmeal, I went shopping for more. New flavors were out! S'more! At first I was going to pass because I figured it must have lots more calories, but when I checked it, I saw that there was only 20 calories of difference between it and the raisin spice flavor I usually get! So I bought a box! Unfortunately, it's rather awful stuff. It smells like s'mores and had little marshmallows floating in it (till they melted), but it tastes like paste. Thumbs down on it!
FFXI:
The night started really slowly and boringly: Farming for sheep. (Non-players: Farming is just killing a lot of something for the things that creature drops.) Didn't have much success and lots of other people were doing it. Ended up with a variety of stuff and with a chunk of time killed, so good enough.
The second half of the night was much, much better! For the first time, I got to play Dark Knight in a party! And it was great! No more standing in the back and flailing my arms around to cast spells! I was the person doing the most damage! It was amazingly cool! And I looked great, too, if I do say so myself. ;)
Unfortunately I did die once last night, but I sort of expected it. Until we get all six members of the party together (the lower people are leveling up to catch up with them), I act as the tank. While DRK is not made to be a tank, it's a much better one than the Taru thief I partied with! And next time we party, we'll be adding in the elf white mage -- she'll be even less of a tank, so I'll continue with it! Eee! It's so exciting! I was ahead of the thief in XP, so it's really not so bad that I died.
I can't wait to level further, so I can get some better equipment! Since my swings are a little slower, I need each one to connect. (I do 4-5 times the damage of other people, but it takes me 2-3 times as long to swing. A great trade off, so long as I can LAND my blows!) It's going to be great to level a job where I have the money to buy good stuff instead of muttling my way through it in barely passable stuff. Woo woo!
8:50 and still no co-worker! Idiot.
