Lost: OMG! OMG! OMG!
Oct. 6th, 2004 11:31 pmDude! I told you the kid was behind it all!
Kid: "Waah waah! I want my doggy!"
Dad: "I'll go look when this downpour stops."
Downpour stops the second father says it.
Dad: "Oh ho ho! I see nothing wrong here! I shall go out into the MONSTER-FILLED JUNGLE and look for your dog, oh kid who seems not to like me very much!"
Second interesting thing! I can't take credit for it, it was posted on a message board. John Locke is the one with the scar on his eye, the semi-scary one, the black kid's "friend", whistle-maker, dog-finder, etc. Quote:
Second, I checked the definition of Tabula Rasa, and came up with two definitions at www.cogsci.princeton.edu/...abula+rasa that seemed quite interesting. The first (with which I was familiar) was "a clean slate OR fresh start OR an opportunity to start over without prejudice". The second definition was even more interesting – "a young mind not affected by experience." What makes it interesting is that this definition originated from a British Philosopher by the name of (drum role please)...John Locke. (End quote)
Interesting, huh? Oh how nice it is to have a series that makes you think and research and hunt down clues! And man, I bet the father made a big, big mistake to take a favor from Locke. That's one scary fellow. :)
If you haven't been watching Lost, you're doing yourself a disservice. :)

Date: 2004-10-07 08:17 am (UTC)For serious. I have a bunch of thoughts I wrote down on paper at one in the morning, and hope to actually write a bit about them once I've got some extended time alone at the comp.
I /hadn't/ noticed that stuff you mentioned WRT the polar bear and stuff the first time through, but how much do I love that stuff like this is there for people (and sometimes even me!) to figure out? LOTS.
Locke terrifies me, I'm thinking he's the one with The Power, and likes the kid so is making stuff happen for him. But in typically Everything Has A Price fashion, or something.
Though I would honestly prefer that everything has a rational explanation. I like paranormal/mystical stuff in plenty of shows, but I would love this show all the more if they can keep it going in the "real world", you know?
*should probably just write an entry, heh*

Date: 2004-10-07 09:07 am (UTC)Lindelof has constantly made comparisons to The Stand with Lost. Walt is most certainly the Randall Flagg of the group.
There are so many questions, that I think I'll put them up on my own LJ - so go there in a bit. :)
