Lost, RL, anime, FFXI (In that order.)

Lost: I'm not sure how many (if any) Lost fans on my flist also read fanfic, but metron_ariston sent me a link for a really outstanding (and very short) fic. It's not totally work safe, but it's not horribly work unsafe, either. (Fic contains a non-graphic handjob.) I was comfortable with reading it at work, YMMV.

monkeycrackmary is one of those magical folks who can get the characters' voices so exactly right! I heard them perfectly in my head! Eee! So what're you waiting for? Go read it! Charlie just needs to ground himself, to touch someone. *toes curl*

RL: While Friday is my official weight-checking day, I usually check mid-week to make sure I'm not in for any nasty surprises on Friday. Would you believe I gained three pounds since last Friday? I can't. While I hate using the excuse, it must be water weight, it makes no sense otherwise! Other than the giant egg sandwich on Monday morning, I've not had anything different than usual! Grrrr! Body, why why why do you want to make me cry? If I throw myself off a tall building, we both lose! So stop it!

Anime: I think I'm caught up with Naruto again. I watched 106(?) -- the end of the race filler arc (thank god), and 107(?) the start of the Naruto/Sasuke fight. Sasuke is starting to beat Sakura on my "characters who annoy me" list. Could he angst and whine more? Some angsting is good, but he's way way over the top with it.

Yay! It was nice to see Shikamaru again, especially with what happened to him in 107. :D He sure is a great character. And while I feel silly saying this of an animated character, Asuma is just so hot! And cool! At the same time! I wish they'd spend more time on these more minor characters...

FFXI: Was it just last weekend I was bored and annoyed by this game? Since then, it's done nothing but eat my brain!

Eco went (as usual) very well last night, even thought we had fewer than usual people. It's so nice of gbeans to organize it for our LSs every week! I need to make the trip back to Windy tonight to pick up my 5K and see how much XP I got from it. (It's great to know I'll have 500-1000 "free" XP every week! WHM is going to continue to level with it, at least till I hit 38 and get the remaining teleports I'm missing.)

Even though I know I don't have to rush it, I feel driven to get my cash up to where it had been before I bought my sniper's ring yesterday. (Posted about that and future purchases here.) I wish I could level DRK faster so I could wear the rings sooner! :} I really, really want my AF as well, though I know that's even further off. Sigh! It's hard to only level once a week!

Tonight 2515049 is organizing a ruby hunt for those of us on the LS who need one. While I'm not terribly interested in playing a summoner, I do want to open all the advanced jobs, so I'm looking forward to going. (I'm just hoping that I'll have better lotting luck than I did with those damned, damned sand charms! One day I WILL go back and try that again! And I got the stacks of dark bass to prove it!)

I did the same thing when it came to gear. Knowing what I wanted I started saving after getting my avatars at level 20. Meant a long wait to wear it, but it sure as hell made getting it feel like less a strain. :)

Exactly! Not having to hit 40 and rush and worry and stress about getting the rings will be a great thing! Instead I can just grin and wait to hit 40 so I can wear them!

It's going to be a long time to get the second one (I'll need to make about 500K), but I bet I'll have it before we hit 40!

Our bodies are eeeevil. No matter how we try to curb them, they seek to expand in some insidious plot to take over the world.. er, or something.
I've been rather successful in losing surplus parts of myself (Literally. I had breast reduction surgery this summer), but my weight hasn't changed at all the last week or so. I get so discouraged when I don't see results. Still, I'm happy I've gotten as far as I have. I've lost around 11 pounds since before the surgery, and only 2.9 of those came out of my udders err, breasts.
Don't let it bring you down.. There will be bumps in the road, but you've come a long way. I'm proud of you, seriously.

I loved Sasuke's moves in the fight, especially the hand- and footwork. Like a professional dancer. ^_^
I'm also happy to see Shikamaru again. I'd say something about him being one of my favorite characters, but what does that really mean when practically everyone else is? ^_^; I tend to love minor characters the most.

Eco is love <3 5k a week to put towards buying food. (Which doesn't quite cover it since I have expensive tastes ~.~ Life was cheaper when I stuck with Mithkabobs..) And Dragon Chronicals is helping me successfully dodge playing more WAR than I have to. I hope your lot is better than most of FIs. I think only a couple people got over 600xp on their scrolls. Almost everyone got under that (including myself.) Ah, well, you win some and you lose some ^^;

Hmm.. Ruby hunting is tonight? And it starts right when I get off work.. >.>; Erm.. I have some gardening to do as soon as I get off work, but once the gardening is finished I'll see about meandering out that way. (Ooh, should I come as MNK or RNG? o.o I love RNG, though I'd be spending unnecessary ammo when I have a perfectly fine job for leech killing (a few jobs, in fact).. but.. RNG!!! [torn] )

(Other horrible temptation for tonight: I broke down and bought Shadow Hearts: Covenant after all the raving Nif and Al have been doing about it. My PS2 may be getting some love tonight instead of PC <.<; )

Lost: Holy crap. The rec you gave was absolutely, 100% worth its' weight in gold. Like you, I could hear the characters voices so clearly in her writing. It made the whole thing so, so enjoyable. Thanks.

Naruto: Try reading the manga arc. Sasuke wasn't just annoying, he was insufferable for a whole volume. And then it ended up that he did the stupidest thing ever. Blah. I have no love for the little brat (not like I had much to begin with, but you know.)

And about Asuma? I definitely agree with you. He's just one of the coolest adults, in my opinion. While Kakashi is skilled and Gai is wacky, Asuma just has this down-to-earth approachability that makes him so awesome.

I must have read it five or six times today. It's so perfect, it's like it was written just for me! I love that whole dynamic where one guy is stronger and takes care of the other guy, and they both offer something the other needs. Eee! I want to read it again! :)

I really do have to read the manga some day. I did download the first part of it, but I like the anime a lot more. I keep intending to go back and read everything up through where the anime is, but... eh. I just haven't yet.

Yes and yes! And my XP last week was, what, over 900? Or nearly 900? Whatever, I can't complain about getting 500 for a long while. (And still! 500 is 500! I made just barely double that in 2.5 hours in the Dunes last weekend...)

The wonderful thing about showing up late for ruby hunting is that being late doesn't matter. People can very easily come and go whenever they please.

Come as whatever you want. I'm sure we'll be immensely covered as far as killing power. I'm not confident to what extent Treasure Hunter actually helps with the likes of Carbuncle's Ruby, but that's about the only consideration I'd bring up.
