(Yeah, yeah, mock me those of you who deal with snow up to your noses.) It's not gotten over 58 all day, and we're going to get frost overnight! My poor toes! My poor orange tree! I hope it makes it! I need to pull it closer to the building (it's in a wooden tub-type thingie). I didn't walk hardly at all last week because it was so cold. That's not good! I have to figure out what to do (like force myself to do it after work instead, maybe).

I haven't gotten HP PoA on DVD yet for two reasons: 1) I haven't really been itching to see it again. I even have a copy on my harddrive, and I never got that watched even once. While I enjoyed it when I saw it in the theater, the longer I thought about it, the less I did. Between how grungy it was and the lack of robes, a lot of the magic was lost for me. 2) I never, ever have stuff I want for Christmas, so I avoided buying it so that my mother or sister could make a gift out of it. (I feel bad for them, shopping for me must be a horror. Every year is the same: I don't want/need anything.)

It's been a really slow day... slow weekend... slow four days off. I caught up on my anime watching (which was only PoT, which sucks ass so much I'm almost ready to stop downloading it), I played FFXI for an hour or two (and was semi-not bored, but not even semi-entertained, so. Eh.), and I read more Sly logs. Odd that I'm finding the Sly logs a little boring now... but I guess I'm still early in their story.

I finally caught the dubbed Fullmetal Alchemist on Cartoon Network. While Al's voice was good, the rest of them were pretty darned bad (in my opinion). Mustang's was especially disappointing (he sounded so bland!). Between not liking the voices and not liking how the series ended, I'm not going to keep watching it. (Though I am curious about how an issue from the middle of the series will be handled... the sad but spoilery thing.)

I got some stuff done over the long weekend (wrapped all my Christmas stuff and boxed it for shipping across country), but mostly and sadly, the long weekend was a waste. I need some new hobby to throw myself into! Or to fall back in love with FFXI. Or to find more logs to read... Or to actually get my character approved so that I can RP (which I hope will be worth the almost-week long wait...). Bah. Life is boring when I'm between obsessions!

The 3rd movie just lacks the magic of the 1st and even 2nd. :(

Blech! Yeah, that'd actually make it worse.

*laughs* You trying to kill me? :) I don't even want to go visit my mother in Maine during the winter! (But seriously, other than the cold, I'd love to see your end of the world sometime!)

Agreed. I still watch the first two over and over, but I doubt I'll watch the third one anywhere near as often.

The worst in #3 is Draco Malfoy as a snivling brat that is barely even a good bully.

Ahhh, I thought I was the only one who noticed that particular bit of mischaracterization. Ugh.

Nope, it was pathetic.

I actually like the voices now...Many people had issues at first, due to the unfamiliarity, and the 'But that's not his voice, dammit!' factor, but the average time to acclimate seems to be 1/2 to 2 episodes. The toughest one seems to be Mustang's voice, and that's in no way the NA VA's fault...Simply put, Mustang's Japanese VA had such a smooth voice, that anyone's going to sound brusque by comparison. Like all the voices, though, it's grown on me.

Plus, considering everyone involved *coughFunimationcough*, I'm impressed by how much they haven't screwed up. I'd suspected 'edits will be minimal to nonexistent' was just a wank, but it's proved true.

Huh, maybe I'll have to give it another chance. (Tivo is still set to grab them, it's a pain to tell it to stop.) Has Armstrong been introduced yet? I've been wondering what his English voice would sound like.

No, the last episode was the one with the creepy mannequin-making man.

Tucker? The guy with the glasses? Heehee, he's an interesting fellow. (Eh, unless they changed his name, but I doubt it since "Tucker" is a fine American name...)

I was definitely bothered by the writing for the scenes in which Malfloy acted like a coward. Sure, he may be a coward at heart, but he's still confident. We have an original work to compare against, and more books and movies where he appears.

Draco is an ongoing nemesis. He's thwarted or avoided over and over. But he isn't supposed to get *that* upset and terrified.

Of course, the first two movies were directed by a different person than the third, which may contribute to this.

Nono, Majhal. He only shows up the once. Remember, it's the episode with the blue roses.

True, the change of director explains a lot, but mostly I think they just didn't know what to do with the character.
