Character Roster and MU*ing History
Nov. 26th, 2002 04:13 pmPeople have been listing all of their MU* characters in the past, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. (After writing it up: This has also become a history of my MU*ing in general.)
One warning: I've been MUCKing and MUSHing for over ten years now, so a lot of characters will likely have been forgotten.
I started MU*ing on the original Lion King MUCK (not the Lion King MUCK that's big as Furry MUCK now). I had two main characters there, Ta'kayna (an OC cheetah) and Ed (FC hyena). I stayed there through an attempted coup (which formed the second ever LK MUCK). Eventually the third and current Lion King MUCK was made, but twinks, poor typing, etc eventually drive me away.
From there I was tapped on the shoulder to help make a new MUCK. Terra Frore. I was building wiz and character wiz, as well as an OC wolf character. (The theme was intelligent animals in some arctic-like land.) The character's name was Tejara. The RP was good, but eventually I moved on.
FDC MUCK (Future Disney Cabinet MUCK) was next, where I "played" Si (Si and Am, Siamese cats from Lady and the Tramp). That was a half-chat, quarter-RP, quarter-drama place, so RP was hard to come by. I was about to give up MU*ing and online RP altogether when someone came and dragged me to my next place.
GarouMUSH was my first MUSH, and sort of turned things around for me. It was a 100%% RP place, plus it had very high typing, grammar, and posing standards. I played a number of characters there:
Kasie/Brightspot (Later: Walks-Far-Alone): Fianna Garou (werewolf)
Clever-for-Food: Gnawer Lupine
Sally MacKay: Kinfolk, and my favorite RP there
Joshua Black: Shadow Walker and somewhat insane killer (foil)
Sally had been my favorite to RP there, but lots of crap came up and pretty much kept kinfolk from RPing on the MUSH, so I was thinking about leaving. It was when a certain bully of a GM/player got made a wiz that I ran for the door.
I've been with Pokemon MUSHes the last five years (overlapping with my time at Garou). Well, first it was PokeMUX actually, but we only stayed there for a few months. I was a nameless Growlithe puppy at the time. Then we moved to a Penn MUSH server, and I expanded my character pool. Besides the puppy, I was Jacob an old (30!) Team Rocket member, and a Katerwaul (ghost cat). We were only on that Penn MUSH a short time before we moved to our current server, Byte-me.org. Somewhere along the way, about three years ago, I became head wizard. My main character is Sly, another Rocket and another killer. Most of my RPing comes from NPCing and GMing though. My need for RP has greatly decreased, as has my free time. I miss it sometimes, but I got a game to run and ... stuff. You know.
Side notes. FDC MUCK was interesting for a few reasons:
- It was my first experience with a "MUCK meet" -- 50 people from the MUCK went to Disney World together, all at the same time! It was a lot of fun and excitement. (Plus, it was my first time going to Disney as anything more than a toddler.)
- I was insane, and I'm surprised my mother permitted this: I drove from NY to Ohio (about 10 hours) alone to meet a man from the MUCK. I slept in his house and we went to the Ohio State Fair together (this was before the MUCK meet above). How crazy is that? He turned out to be a really nice guy, but ... gah, that was a stupid thing to do.
