Fishing and stuff (FFXI only)

I made a joke in my CTY journal that by the time I get my LSR I'll be so sick of fishing that I'll never want to fish again. Amusing twist on that: Once I get it, I'll be so poor that I'll have to fish for cash, no matter how little I want to. Heh.

About 2300 fish turned in.
About 500K spent.

Not good! Not good at all! It boggles me how little difference massive piles of fish make: Before work this morning I was able to buy 45 stacks at 4K each... and it only raised my total by a couple hundred. (*does the math* Okay, that's about 540 fish. 180K gil on this one shopping trip alone. *boggle*)

I keep telling myself that I have to buy less and fish more, but with a full time job? If I did nothing on the game but fish, I'd still have only maybe 5 hours total of fishing time on a weekday. (I hate how much having a RL job hurts me in the game!)

Bot fishing has never looked so tempting... (Not that I would, but man. I could get all the fish I need and spend no money! And people do it all the time! Grrrrrr.)

This game is so frustrating sometimes.

Fish Buying

Something to keep in mind that D told me about buying fish, and that I just calculated.

10,000 fish / 12 per stack = 833.4 stacks of fish.

833.4 stacks of fish x 4,000g per stack = 3.3ish million in gil.

.... That's why it seems like it's not making such a dent. ^^; And why I can't simply buy mine. Even if I spent all the gil I had, it'd only get my 1/3rd there. And I refuse to do that. ^^;;

Man. That's way way too much money. I really, really need to stop buying. Maybe I'll stop now. Must stop being obsessed about this!

833.4 x 4,000 = 3,333,600g

10,000 x 100 = 1,000,000g you make just from turning in carp.

So total damage is really 2.3-2.4 mil... Still, that's too damn much. X3

Now, if you fished all 10k, that's an 'easy' million right there. *rolls with giggles*

@_@ Thistle! Back off the moats a bit, hon. I've been at this quest for about a month total of casual fishing and buying and I only have 1600 fish turned in. c.c You've turned in more in the past three days than I have in my entire effort! This quest was meant to take a long time, not drop all your money at once on. ^^;

I'm not good at taking my time with stuff. I hate unfinished tasks! They drive me batty. Or I drive me batty. One of the two. :p
