TGIF, baby! (FFXI)

Yay! Almost the weekend! I feel like I've been such a slacker on the game this week -- I've not made a single gil at all! Monday and Tuesday were farming for the mission, Wednesday was the mission, and yesterday was the swimsuit event. If I'm going to get my Hauberk +1, I can't keep slacking off! I'm still 3 million short of it. Yeah, I'll get 4 million or so when I sell my Haubergeon back, but I'd rather have the Hauberk +1 now, ahead of time and ready for when I hit 69. Plus, after I buy the HQ (12 million, gah), I'll need the cash from selling the Haubergeon back.

And by the way, might I take a moment to protest these names? For 4.8 million, I expect a name easier to spell than "Haubergeon"! And honestly, Hauberk is not much better...

But anyway, the swimsuit event! I can't say it was really fun, but it was easy and fast (so long as you don't get stuck with a partner too stupid to live). I got two HQ pieces for Thistle and NQ pieces for the mules I want to be wearing them, so I'm pretty much done with the event.

It's just too bad that the swimsuit makes me look like I should either be standing on a streetcorner waiting for a john, or like I walked off the set of some low budget 70s porno. There are some character models, even male hume character models, the suits look good on, but mine is NOT one of them. Heh. I still boggle every time I look at that swimsuit. It just looks so wrong on me.

And speaking of "wrong", there's something that annoys me even more than how the suit looks: I should have more muscles, darned it. I wear AF that's made of enough metal to armor a tank, and I wear it all the time. I swing a scythe that's bigger and heavier than half the people I party with. I should have more darned muscle than shows in that picture! (Yeah, yeah, I know, limitations of the game, but still!)

So anyway, must farm and chocobo dig lots this weekend. Or at least as much as I can. I want to edit the dragon video, too. (Thanks Sylf! The link worked! Though I haven't tried to start it yet, but I have it! So yay!)

Lin and Ebin's wedding is Saturday. I'm going as /WHM so I can sneak/invisible without burning oil/powder, but I'm also bringing a warp object because I am NOT NOT NOT going to stress myself trying to get up the mountain. If I fall off once and want to give up? *warp* If I allow a second try and then fall off? *warp* Everyone has a right to choose where they want to be married. Hall of the Gods? Through the highest level mobs in the game? Fine. In Castle Evil Demon Whateveritscalled? Fine and dandy, your choice. Up an impossible-to-climb mountain? Knock yourself out if that's what makes you happy. But you can't expect your guests to put themselves through hell getting there. Heck, if I ever got married on game (...ha ...ha. *sob*), I would pick no where but a newbie zone or inside a city. I would not want to stress my friends out trying to get them someplace hard. (end rant)

I still need to get my swimsuit pieces for Ead; I saw my twin, Makoholic, in the full set, and now I should probably try for it. I think Auri and D'll beat me if I don't. X3

As for making gil, I've been extremely slack on it myself. There's just been a simple want /not/ to do it lately, and that's bad. I need to get back to it, as I've got a /lot/ of stuff I need to buy. And since the dark ore market has tanked, that means bolts. z_z

I'm still sending Dano to the wedding, but I'm hoping she doesn't die too badly through it. x_X She's got plenty of buffer into 30, but I'd like to keep it so I can continue leveling on. ;_;

I know that feeling. At least I have a few options as to how I can make my money (dig, farm, make bolts if that won't make me cry too much...) but still, I'd rather not do any of that.

And honestly, I shouldn't really be looking at the HQ of a level 69 item yet. I still have stuff in the low to mid 60s I'll need first...

I hope she doesn't as well. I hope the trip up will be smooth for everyone, but somehow I'm strongly doubting it.

Y'know, you've got one of my favorite character models, but yeah, something about the suit is a bit off. Which is odd, since pretty much anything else I've seen on you (or Yosari, Cade, Tovari, and other random folks who look like you) looked really good. Save the panties, of course. ;p

If you want a partner for any swimsuit-hunting, lemme know. None of my characters have done it yet, and I'd kind of like to get suits for all of them, and an HQ set for Cydori. Yes, this is my event-obsessiveness kicking in. No, I'm not sure if it'll actually happen. I'd rather give up when people aren't totally frustrated with me. ^^;

I almost kinda wish I could work the Attohwa part of 3-3 in so I wouldn't have to climb the mountain twice, but I wouldn't want to put people at risk and waste their time. Besides, all you guys who have done it already are going up again, so why should I have to be any different? ^_~

Never mind about your armor, supposedly, I spend my time swinging around sledgehammers one-handed, heavy blunt-type weapons which would be far far heavier than those namby pamby 'light as a feather' blades that every other job is allowed to use (yes, even BLM and SMN... those scythe and dagger wielding gits). So how come my STR is way down? What gives??

For wedding locations... Attohwa is a doozy... and I'm not sure if I'll be make it now anyway. Supposedly I'm traipsing off to the cinema to see a flick with folks. Personally, I absolutely adore the SarutaBaruta mini-zone where Beanie and Nif got married. So pretty, and no chance of being stumbled across by random adventurers.

I still have to get my swimsuit, but Zee and I plan to get it done tonight. Watch out for the Hume girls running around in bikinis. ;)

Yeah, I do think it might be the hair. I saw it on Cade, and it worked as poorly as it did on me. (Or perhaps skin colors vary a little between models? But I'd think I would have noticed that by now...)

I have seen pictures of Yosari in it wearing just the top and then the rest of his RDM gear. They make me giggle. You know someone's your friend when you mock each other mercilessly about their clothing choices! ^_~

I don't think I'll be able to do any swimsuit-questing until Saturday afternoon post-wedding at the earliest, and probably not until sometime Sunday after I help Ail and company with anima-hunting. So don't wait for me if you find someone else.

The only wedding planning I've seen has been to get an escort up the mountain, which I'm doing. I suppose if we could get enough people there ahead of time who were willing to help, we could try 3-3, but I'd rather not take too much of people's time and put them through extra trouble.

Yes, Beanie/Nif's location was perfect. Wasn't there another one in the Windy newbie zone? Niala/Chip's? (Did they get married yet? We have too many LS weddings, I can't keep track of them all!)

Luckily the swimsuit thing is easy, and you can use the same partner the whole time. Just need to two two in one city, then (if you want the HQ) move to a different city and do it twice again. Just make sure to do each one on a new game day.

Ahh, thanks for the info. So I can get full sets for my mules and an HQ for Cydori with fairly little trouble.

And Niala and Chipoka haven't gotten married to my knowledge. Nor have I heard anything about them getting married.

Beanie/Nif's was an official wedding, so that's why they could get the special zone and all. I think Lin and Ebin were trying for one, but it's apparently very hard and their application got refused, so they decided to do it this way.

If I ever get married in-game (*snerk* ha!) I'd go for someplace a little out of the way but not overly dangerous. Like the beach at Buburimu, or some corner of the Highlands.

I come from a long-standing writing/RP community where we all have a sense of easy familiarity with each other. So I've gotten in the habit of RP'ing first and asking later, which is not the best of habits. ^_^; So I figured I should check before I took things too far.
