Weekend update (FFXI only, oodles of screenshot-goodness!)

It's funny, Friday was only a couple days ago, and I can't remember what happened. We did... something. I think we did something? Or maybe I just farmed...

Saturday was a busy day. New moon hit at a reasonable time, so I crafted a ton. Farmed a ton. Cursed a mountain a ton. There was (another) LS wedding, and though it wasn't an official one (which I hadn't known till we got there) it was fine. Here's a picture of all the fireworks we shot off after. The mountain we had to climb to get there was a pain in the ass (I lost count of how many people commented on hating it), but at least it's not a spot that official weddings can be held, so hopefully we won't have to go back again. I did finish a quest by climbing it, so that was a bonus. Mostly I spent the day farming, in my rush to get 12 million so I could get my HQ body armor.

On Sunday I saw the price of the armor was up to 15M, so... bah. I haven't totally given up on the idea (maybe I'll find it in a bazaar at 12M, which is where I saw the 12M pricetag to begin with), but I'm not holding out much hope.

I spoke to an NPC who knows just nothing at all about Dark Knights:

I've noticed that my mannequins have become rather sexy. *boggle* I didn't do that on purpose, I just dressed them in stuff I don't need (the humeM is wearing my AF scythe), but... wow. That swimsuit top looks TONS better on him than it does on me. (Oh wait, maybe I took the AF scythe off him. That looks like my bone scythe +1.)

This new(?) item made me laugh out loud. I have no idea what it's for, but I want it! I swear, S-E has started hiring NA writers who have senses of humor! Too bad it cost so much, I'd love just having it in my bazaar for 999,999,999.

Oh, and our main static was Sunday! For the first time most of us didn't level, and I'm sure that will be the trend from now on. We got Waru Kittygirl (kawaru)as a replacement for our last puller, and it's so great to be able to party with him again! It's so interesting to have new SCs and new tactics and such. I thought I'd be doing the same old SC till I hit 75.

This is the first time this happened, and I did it twice!

I've almost never MBed ever, even in my (very few and limited) days of playing BLM. You know, BLM is the only job (outside of DRK) that I have even a little interest in leveling, but I'm sort of worried about trying to jump into it now because all the "lolrng"s have moved to it...

That's the ranger who was also associated with one of the high points of our XPing on Sunday: We ran into Wyvernpoacher Drachlox! We weren't totally sure we could take him as a party (pretty sure but not totally) and a pushy BST had called a RNG in who needed the bow, so we joined with their party to help kill it for that ranger (Xcon). A picture of us fighting him. The bow (or crossbow? whatever) didn't drop, and what few good drops there were (gold beastcoin among other things) the other party got. But we got to (help) kill him, so that was cool!

I'm about 2K to DRK60 (so close! so close!), but almost as important: I'm at scythe 197. If I had hit DRK 60 tonight I would have got my lazy butt into a skillup party to get myself to scythe 200, but since my cap is 198 at 59, there's not much use. But I'm so close to Guillotine! I should get it next week! Eeeee!

Guillotine is teh secks. Just warn your WHM before you stack it with SE :P

~.~ If it sucks so bad why does he wante the crossbow? Honestly, I should just grab a couple people and camp the damn thing so it's out of the way. But... [busy Bean and hate camping...] At the rate I'm going, my RNG is going to ding 59 in a level capped zone ^^; I'm about 10k ahead of Nif now 'cause that's the job I've been taking the ENMs and hunts and such... (I'm less than 3k away now...)

Isn't that handy? Well, if you're not trying to stay level with your static, that is. Luckily mine has a couple people far ahead of me, so I have plenty of room before I have to go out and kill myself.

I never ever ever ever look away when there's a DRK with SE active X_x, although most of the DRKs I know only stack SE with non-multi-hit WSes, so it's not that horrible.
SE+Guillotine just takes a bit more hate managment skills is all, if you have a back up healer it won't be a problem.

On the note of rapidly dropping HP, our beloved RDMs have already shock-proofed my low HP sensors ;)

The only way I could ever imagine doing that is if I were soloing or in the Maat fight. SE + 2hr + Guillotine would work in a situation where you didn't have to worry about hate, and the 2h part would keep you alive (hopefully).

Our tank is NIN, and while he rocks I think that would probably be too much for him. Though with our new THF and me nearly at 60, two TAs onto him will help things lots.

Yeah, Xcon was. :P And the BST was actually telling our party what/when to pull! "Don't pull that gob yet, wait till his pet pops so I can grab it." Not asking us to wait, telling us to. Then she told us that we should drop a member and get a RDM/BRD. Ha ha ha.

RDM/BRD sounds neat! Double refresh; that said -- dropping someone, did she consider that SHE Might be the one voted off the island as the weakest link or did the fear factor get to her?
