Two Towers, Two Towers, Two Towers, Two Towers!

The more people talk about something, the less I want to hear about it. Seems like more than half the LJs I read are talking about (Two Towers! Two Towers! Two Towers! Two Towers! Two Towers!) a darned movie. I'm sure it's good, I'm sure it's pretty, I'm sure the story in it is great, but I so totally do not want to see it. I do not even want to hear the name (Two Towers! Two Towers! Two Towers! Two Towers!) ever again.

The more people/groups push me in one direction, the more stubbornly I dig in my heels and resist.

I still haven't seen the first Lord of the Rings movie yet. I'm feeling less and less inclined to change that.

I won't push you to see either movie. It's your loss if you don't. :)

(However, I seem to recall you being mildly ambivalent about Harry Potter until you actually read the books, too. And now you're considering action figures :)

I had a similar reaction to Forrest Gump. And even though I finally did see it, a year and a half later, I still didn't like it. Didn't hate it, but didn't like it.

OTOH, American Beauty, which everyone hyped to death, *was* that good.

To each, his own.

Sounds like us and Harry Potter. We resisted and resisted because we wanted NO part of it, then we read the books, and -hey-, we really LOVE Snape and Lupin.

So... ^.^ Maybe go with the flow, once in a while.

Yeah, I was thinking about Harry Potter as I was making that post. Maybe I'll go see it in a couple months, when no one's really going anymore. (Then when I say I liked it, you can all mock me and remind me of this post. :) )

Forrest Gump I fell in love with when I first saw it, then dragged my mother to see it, then dragged my sister, then friends... I'm not sure how many times I saw it in the theater, but I cried my eyes out every time. Funny, but for all my viewings of it, when I see it on TV I *still* cry if I watch it all the way through...

On American Beauty, the only hype I recall was Chuck raving about it (which was reason for me to avoid it, though for different reasons than in my post. :P ). Eventually I did see it, and was amazed. I saw it maybe a year ago, and I *still* think about it. If you have HBO, be sure to watch Six Feet Under. Same sort of magic in it as in the movie. (Same guy directed it or something...)

Yeah, maybe. :) Maybe once the hype has died down and the crowds go elsewhere I might check it out... or maybe wait for the DVD or something.

If it gets any attention like the last one, people will still be going to it. :)

I will! But only a little. :)

I have the DVD of Fellowship, if you ever want to borrow it. And I will not mock you if you decide you like it. I think it really is a movie that improves on the 2nd viewing, though, just as a warning. Or a heads up.

Heehee, thanks. I might take you up on it some day... when I have both a couple of hours free and the ability to sit still during them. :)

Heh...

Wow, this coming from me, of all people...

But okay! I think you should wait! Don't see anything. Not yet. Nope. Don't see Fellowship, ignore Two Towers, forget all about it! Wait until Return of the King comes out. Then, if you feel like it, watch Fellowship. If you like that, see the others. But at least then you won't have to wait another freaking year if you end up liking it. And if not, oh well!

Hee, just my opinion. I'll go back to hating Jackson for releasing one movie a year, and squealing like the fangirl I am over Legolas... ;)

*snickers*

Gay sex! Gay sex! Gay sex!

But seriously, you might have a plan there. Remember how I said I almost wished I had waited till all of the Potter books were out before I read them? Maybe seeing all three movies together might be an idea...

Mmmm, Legolas. Although I wasn't as dumbstruck by him this movie as I was Fellowship. Maybe if they hadn't put the stair-surfer scene in the commercial...

Now, Eomer, on the other hand... *twitchburble*

fealu_bryne has a thing for Legolas, as well as for any other, um, potential man-on-man action. :P

You know I do, baby! Mmmm. ;)

Oh, Eomer was nice! Although I liked Faramir, too. And Aragorn. Ack, four sexy guys in one movie. It should be illegal or something... even if it does make for one helluva movie.

Bloody hell... c'mon Jackson, give us Return of the King already!

Erg. Forrest Gump.

I made it plain when this movie first came out that I did not want to see it at all. No inclination. None. Loved the soundtrack, did not want to have anything else to do with the movie.

There were, sum total, 4 attempts made to force me to watch the movie. The first was an 'ambush' (I was invited over to watch movies, and Forrest Gump was the intended subject of movie night.) The second and third involved me being sat on (I fell asleep). The fourth...three people tied me to a chair. I actually had to chew through twine to escape.

And people wonder why I'm so finicky about movie watching. :P
