Slow night on FFXI tonight, which is just fine. Even though I didn't want to party and did want to Eco/Escort with the LS, I actually had my flag up for an hour. There were zero 67s seeking so I thought my chances of getting a party were good, but see that whole 'not feeling like partying' thing. Eventually I made myself take my flag down.

Problem is, at my average XP (2K/hour) it'll take 13.5 hours of XPing to level to 68. And that's just XPing, forget that for every hour I party I spend at least an hour seeking. ~27 hours of playtime for one single level. :/ That's depressing enough that it makes me not want to even try. (But thanks to Eco and Escort, I made just over 2K experience tonight even though I didn't party. Yay!)

I'm looking into making my search comment more "marketable". I think I'll take out the last line "Pulling/{fishing} = {No thanks.}" and just not carry a ranged weapon. I mean, do all DRKs carry ranged weapons and are ready to pull? Especially if they have a bomb core? I'd think anyone with a bomb core would never carry a ranged weapon. I also set myself "JE" instead of just "E". If asked (in something other than Japanese!) I'll say I thought it meant what I was willing to party with. I hate the idea of lying, but I really need to make myself more attractive to parties. Other than that, all I can do is get my &$*#@&)&$* GS leveled. Hate GS so much. Have I mentioned that yet? :P

CoP static people: Beanie spotted five cluster cores in someone's bazaar, and we'll need two per person, so I bought all five. (You guys might be able to solo them, but I can't. I bought more than just two because I almost never see clusters in the Meadows/Coast so I have three for anyone who can't get their own.)

I'd like to know why S-E changed the cool German names (Jaeger Mantle, Panzer Mask), but left the stupid ones in. I spent 151K for my new great sword: the Zweihander (on me!). Not only did it cost way too much for something I don't want, not only does it have a stupid name, it actually has the nerve to be ugly.

How's this for a pair of sexy guys? Mmmm. Made my night seeing that. ;)

RL: I'm so darned hungry. I was hungry this morning so actually got breakfast, then I had those snacks at work, then I had popcorn for lunch, then I had dinner, but for some reason I'm still starving. Bah.

It's actually stormy out tonight (I think we got [livejournal.com profile] loneguardian's wind), which is nice to listen to but annoying to be in. My apartment is seriously drafty. I like wearing shorts year 'round, but tonight my legs are cold.

Anime: I'm three eps behind on Bleach. I have them downloaded, just haven't watched them yet. Bah.

Whoever ([livejournal.com profile] snowcalico?) told me that Zach Bell would get darker and more serious was right. Last week's (eh, two days ago) was actually enjoyable! With the kitty momoto (or however you spell it, what Zach is). *sniffle*

Still loving the dubbed Naruto, other than Haku's voice. Having what sounds like an adult woman purr about Zabuza's "flawless body" just gives a whole different cast to the relationship. :(

Somehow I've stopped watching the new Yu Gi Oh series. I think they moved the time earlier, now showing it before I get home from work. Sucky.

I've got two cores, as does Eadwyn. :) Since you can only have one salt, it being rare/ex, that means Ead and I are covered. You need to trade two cores to a npc to get the salt. :)

I always thought Zweihander was a cool name. And maybe they left it in since it could be seen as a reference to their shooter for PS1, Einhander.

Heh! I hope Niala or Chip need some then! Otherwise I'll stick them into my bazaar and hopefully recover the 30K from the extras. :P

Oh, and I must've missed it when I first read your post, but forget about what people think of you having JE up instead of E. Even in the Japanese version it doesn't say a damn thing about "what languages do you speak?" It means the same thing in both versions, i.e. "English-speaking party", "Japanese-speaking party", or "either is fine".

To tell the truth I'm not sure whether people complain because they think the Japanese version is worded differently or if it's because they think it's somehow wrong to say "I'm willing to party with Japanese players even though I don't speak Japanese." The bottom line is that if someone gets mad about something like that, they're not the kind of person whose opinion counts for much anyway.

Your current problems with levelling DRK makes me cringe.. I don't think I could ever have the sanity to level a job through pickups onry, at higher levels... 27 hours of pickup parties (2k at best nowadays because people are almost always incompetent w), just thinking about it makes me want to curl up into a ball of hate. ; ;

I've always thought that DRKs would be forced to pull. :\ However, don't really see many pull with crossbow/ranged, only with Poison or something weak, but MP conserving. About the J/E, though... I always mark self as J/E because the English client says "no language preference," which is honestly how I prefer to party. JP client says "can speak both English/Japanese," but eh... :\

Program VCR to record YGO for you. X3 And my subligar's better than yours. >.o

Keep the Cluster Cores, the quest is repeatable and you might need them.

As for exp...to be blunt, it will never get better. Ding 73 and see a 40K tnl where you can only get 100 exp per mob.

Draque says that too "Get used to this, this is level 75 XP", but I'm not 73 or 75. I'll cope with that level of XP when I get there, but for now I'd really rather have level 67 speed of XP. :P (Without the empress band, nearly every party I've been in barely gets over 100 XP per kill. 120-130 is our norm.)

Keep the Cluster Cores, the quest is repeatable and you might need them.

Ah, maybe I'll do that then, if Chip and Niala don't need them.

Makes me cringe, too. Daily. But our static crashed and burned, so I have no choice in the matter. I'd make a new one, but very few people in the LS are around this level, and for some reason there's a lack of interest in statics. They may be slower (meeting only once a week), but everything else about it is better...

However, don't really see many pull with crossbow/ranged, only with Poison or something weak,

I really don't want to pull, period, but I suppose if it comes down to it I'll have to do that.

Odd, on my client it's "bilingual" which is why I was confused.

Funny, someone else said that, too. But in my client the three choices are: English, Bilingual, and Japanese, thus I thought it meant what you spoke... Strange.

That is normal exp for that level if you aren't fighting dhamels.

Non JP players get very upset if they aren't getting 200 exp per mob, even if it takes 10 minutes to get that 200 exp. Dropping VT mobs once a minute and getting 100 a mob is much better, but no-one will do it.

Basically everything you need to know to get a party working functionally with both Japanese and NA players.

As for GS, lets go back to Boyahda soon and get you that weapon skill. :3

Oh drat. But I hate fighting dhalmels more than I hate 100-ish per fight. Darned things resist everything I cast, and that healing move is too fast for me to stun.

Yeah, that's not good either. It just doesn't seem long ago that I used to get 200 exp per fight, with the fight being fast. Oh well!

And on a related note, the robber crabs and such should be good until 200, right? So we can stick with those and be safer, if it's just the two of us.

And this time hopefully I'll remember to bring my key!

I don't play FFXI, but when I saw 'Zweihander' and Thistle mocking it, my immediate reaction is "Uh. It's a real sword, and it means 'two-hander'." While 'Einhander' here is one-handed. :)

I think it's cool, personally. :)

and it means 'two-hander'.

Yeah, I remember enough German to recall that "two" is "zwei". :) But if you're going to use German, why use it for only half of the name? ...okay, Babelfish is telling me that "hand" in German is "hand", but that can't be right... If "hand" is German then I guess I'm okay with the name "Zweihander". Just seems odd to have the name half-German and half-English.

:P

That stops in the low 60s, I believe. By mid-60s, everything will be 150-170, and it drops consistantly lower from there. ; ; It sucks, low levels get sick amounts of exp at a rediculous pace when they're only like 10k tnl and high levels have to kill mass amounts of VTs (Cause the ITs just take way too long to kill and aren't really worth it) to even get remotely close to the kind of effortless exp of the lower levels. v_v SE is sadistic.

I'm just grumpy about GSs in general, I suppose. Or rather about being forced to put so much time (hours and hours of RL time) and money into something I don't even want, just so random idiots will want me. :/

It's so depressing that I have to work so hard to be wanted by people I neither like nor respect... and then have them not even want me. A real blow to the ego. :P

I got 5 for 10K each (Beanie said that was the average price). But I refuse to take your money~ I could take some food instead though, if you had any around (or a promise of food later!). Do you have any really cheap sushi on hand? (Just for skilling with, so the cheaper the better.) And/or a promise of a single taco (or more, if I fail to beat Maat the first time *sniffle*) at some future point. Or nothing! Whatever. :)

Just out of curiosity, did they make Haku a girl in the Dubbed version? I find it amusing how the English versions of anime try to skirt around things that are contrary to gender roles (they really don't appreciate effeminate men properly) or homosexuality (e.g. Sailors Neptune and Uranus being "cousins", for that matter making Zoicite a girl. Or in Tekkaman Blade making Rebin a girl too.) If they actually made Haku female, I will have to giggle.
