(I don't think I got that quote quite right, but close enough.)
Lost: Man, Eko is... mmm. No spoilers, but dude! So cool.
FFXI: I wish I hadn't been so fast to sell my Balmung, but that feeling is totally silly. I went farming the next day, and suddenly mobs were hitting me like mad (it was like my pre-O-Hat/Hauberk days, when I had like -40 eva). The only change I made was switching out my Balmung (Accuracy: 5, Attack: 13, HP: -5%) for Balin's (MP: 13, STR: 4, INT: 2). There's nothing in that stats change which should affect my ability to dodge hits... yet it really seemed as different as day and night.
My current acc is 41, the loss of 5 acc shouldn't matter, since my dex is only ............ hmmm. My dex is 79. Maybe that 5 acc did make a difference. (And when in the world did my stats change that much? *boggle*) I was going to say that tonight was the first time in a long, long, long time that I couldn't hit the damned mob in an XP party (really, 4-5 misses in a row! That's just unacceptable!), could a change of 5 acc really make that much difference?
And what the hell, I haven't looked at my stats in ages. My str is 94. My 78 attack should be balanced fine, no? You should try for 1:1?
Maybe it isn't so silly to wish I had kept my Balmung. :( They only sell once or twice a month, I wonder if I should even try to get it back? I can't believe I was actually missing so much tonight, it was so embarrassing.
Edit: I think I'll try some sushi next time and see if it makes a difference. But really, could the loss of 5 acc make a noticeable effect? :(
Anyway, so yes, I did get a party. (WOO!) We went to U-whatever Range, which was at least somewhere new to XP. Unfortunately it took us a half-hour to get there and we only XPed for two hours (made about 6K with band), but still. Any XP is good XP!
One day, when I go fully insane, I'm going to stand around in Jeuno and correct grammar. This made me twitch for so many reasons:

And there's always something fun happening on our LS~

Demons are really cool looking. See? And see again? Wish they were easier to get to, I'd enjoy XPing on them more.

Date: 2006-01-12 08:20 am (UTC)Oddly, yes. You might have been just on the threshhold of being able to hit consistantly. I know I juggled my equipment a lot to walk that fine line and keep as close to max damage output as I could. Tho I guess if it's on your weapon you couldn't swap it in and out. :/ I suggest sushi! Sushi cures all that's wrong in the world. (I wonder if I could bribe someone with it to get at DoC faster... o.o/)

Man, loved loved loved his backstory! And he's so... eee! Facing down the... swarm-thingie?
And was it just me, but that scene in the church (when he and the other boy were grown up) was that, um, slashy or what? Their eyes met and I was like eeee!

Date: 2006-01-12 08:04 pm (UTC)His backstory was by far one of the most interesting ones, if not the most interesting. That swarm thing scene was the best. <3
Ahaha I did not see that, but I was way too caught up with Eko to notice anyone else. Hee.

Date: 2006-01-12 09:19 pm (UTC)So when the view panned around Lostasaurus, who did you see in the smoke? I'm asking everyone, since different people seemed to have picked out different faces.
Erm. My attention was caught by FFXI at that moment, and all I had time to glance and see were shapes and vague colors. I hadn't realized there were faces/scenes until today when I read what people were saying... I do have the ep tivoed, so I might rewatch it and see.
...I hope you die.
Ha ha, does that mean you saw it, too~? And in my own defense, I hadn't realized they were brothers at that time. :P
