Help with Japanese? (FFXI)
Apr. 30th, 2006 10:15 pmUneventful day. Tons of downtime, which was nice. Soloed BLU from 18 to 20, making about 4K/hr XP (without band), which is twice my usual XP/hour in parties. Learned Bomb Toss and whatever that flytrap AoE sleep move is called. BLU is so amazing. I chained EMs and T+s. Killing DC/EPs is a waste of my time. :D
Recall the worthless NIN from last night? This the conversation about her. Can any Japanese-speaking folks tell me what they were saying? (And I don't usually chew people out like this, but she was just awful.) Short conversation log, eek Japanese! (Background: The JP leader (Zigo) said the party was disbanding in 30 minutes. 15 minutes later, Worthless NIN announced she was leaving.)
Oh my god, more Humes need to wear that BLM tattoo armor. *DROOL DROOL DROOL* (Look how boring and ugly I look behind him. Blechy low level armor!)
We spent a couple hours killing that NM for Carby Mitts. Fights were easy enough to sleep through, or nearly so. Everyone who wanted mitts/pacts got them.
In the downtime between NM pops, we played Human Tic-Tac-Toe. Melees were Xs and Mages were Os. :P
You'd think gilsellers would have better armor... And dude, why a DRK gilseller? You guys really ever need stunners?

Date: 2006-05-01 05:53 am (UTC)(Akiya) Not yet not yet [ed: probably referring to the TNL inquiry]
(Zigo) You're getting angry, aren't you...
(Akiya)
(Plan) Getting angry?
(Akiya) "This ninja without Utsusemi!" he said.
(Zigo) What's with this atmosphere lol
(Razagna) leaving soon?*
(Plan) oh lol
*More guessing than anything

Date: 2006-05-01 05:54 am (UTC)Akiya: not yet not yet~ (about the "close to level?" comment, I guess)
Zigo: He's angry, isn't he?
Akiya: (something about blue mage and a junky/shitty something or other, but I can't understand it well)
Plan: Is he angry?w
Akiya: Talking to this ninja without utsusemi!!
Zigo: This atmosphere has kinda gotten bad w
Razagna: They dropped out of the party.
Plan: Oh dear w
The thing I couldn't translate kinda looked like they were mad at you or something, but they call you Ao-san(Mr. Blue). It's the usual thing to put -san on the job name. When they talk about that worthless ninja, they
just say "ninja" without adding a suffix, so they don't like the guy either, heh.

Okay, that's just too cute! I'm going to demand that LS people now call me either Ao-san or Mr. Blue~!

Date: 2006-05-01 08:26 pm (UTC)Yeah, he does. Coldlionfish used to be a friend of mine! (Or at least that sort of friend you can make on FFXI: /waving to each other when you happen to cross paths, pausing to emote at each other but never really talking.)
Twice Coldlionfish saved me! Once when I was alone he voked aggro off me, and once while I was on a mission -- something aggroed our group and we were nearly dead. While he was fighting a bomb, he turned and voked the mob off us and battled both things at once. I did the usual /bow, /smile, {Thank you.} stuff, and hung around and cured him once he had killed both. We emoted at each other for a while while my party boggled at me.
On /p told me he what he was, and I said something like "He's to nice to be a gilseller!". Heh. He really had been nice and friendly, so I still emoted at him when I saw him, but eventually we stopped crossing paths and that ended that. Funny thing is, I still have fond feelings for him (even though he's both a Galka and a gilseller). It's that "imprinting" thing that's happened before -- he saved me! He's so big and strong and was able to easily handle things that almost killed weak little me! The mental image connected to his name is a big giant protective wall of orange (he was wearing MNK AF at the time, no idea if he still does) that can and would kill anything that tried to hurt me. :P
I think I've heard you mention Jingboy? He was sort of the opposite, right? Not very nice at all?

Date: 2006-05-02 05:06 am (UTC)This is the second time you're voicing your disapproval of the armor choices of my friends, and I want you to stop it. They didn't ask for anyone's opinions on their armor, weapon, or subjob choices.
Thanks.

Date: 2006-05-05 05:27 pm (UTC)Jingboy, Langboy, and Rengirl I first met when in Batallia XPing RNG. (I know, complete flabberghasting concept to XP in Batallia and that I was a RNG small enough to do so forever ago!). We were XPing off the Goblin and The trio kept bringing Tigers (2 at a time) into our bunker camp. Those tigers do AoE paralyze -.-; After they wouldn't leave, we decided to move bunkers and just make a new camp. A few minutes later they showed up and started doing it again. (They were around level 45 then, I think they were farming/sorta XPing. Also keep in mind that the MPK rules weren't in effect then, so when they'd zone (which they did) they'd release 2 Tigers on us and we'd have to zone to escape.
We placed 5 GM calls on them for this and moved bunkers again. Then Meyoh came out and started killing every Tiger in the zone, conviently farming them and making sure they didn't get a Tiger, period. The GMs didn't do anything about them, and they grew up to become the gilsellers that they are today! Langboy used to live in Davoi camping the Jujitsu Gi NM and Jingboy used to live in Zi'tah farming Goobers. Both have moved onto other camps since then, but for about a year you would always find those two in those locations.
It's also worth mentioning that during early RNG levels we also ran across A-Fbinfen. They took over our Weapons camp in Champaign and were stealing mobs from me that I pulled for XP :/ We ended up moving to Rolanberry and killing the Weapons there for nice XP without fighting with gilsellers for it.
