Went to Besieged as RDM today, and wow, was it totally the opposite of my usual experiences. Hated it so very much. Healing? Hasting? Perhaps going so far as Dia'ing now and then? It was anti-fun. The one good thing was that it was the last push I needed: For months I was waiting to stop disliking the job and wanting to XP it again, but I realized that's not going to happen. So it's over! I'm done with RDM!

It's sort of good that I decided not to go as RDM again, because the tabbing=crashing bug was crippling me. I couldn't tab through PCs/NPCs, so I just ran around and used F8 and F9.

Even though I died right as the trolls retreated, I got all 700 points (Nif was raising me, I got on my feet after the retreat message but before the CS). That was the one good part of the event.

I ran off to sell all my RDM stuff, and very very sadly things had dropped so much in price. The torque I got for 4M was currently at 2M, with 8 up. The rope I was using was bought for 4M, also selling for 2M. Grrrr! And the worst: I never once used the torque! (It ws 65, I'm 64.) The only good thing that came of the two items was that yohshee borrowed them to kick Maat's butt with.

But at least this is finally done. Never XPing RDM again! Yay!

Hehe yeah i know other people who never play RDM anymore and got it to 75... but it's such a good partner for duoing things as mnk =P

I think people like the idea of "I can solo everything with RDM", but that's not what you end up ever doing usually.
RDM takes so long to solo anything that I always figured the mob doesn't actually lose, he just says "erm, sorry but I got other things to do this week, let's pretend you won ok?" and gives up.

It's probably also frustrating that at very low levels it almost seems like rdm could be a DD with melee and with blm spells, and the more you level up and the more that impression goes away o.O
I know RDMs i do lebros cavern assault with tried all atk gear and melee food and were hitting for 0-1, spirits within for 20 at most and took them a long time to get tp, while with a single punch critical i could hit for 9.

So yeah they are so useful but I can see why you gave up on it, playing support is not very fun.

Mailed the answer on BGM. It is free, and therefore behind a /little/ from the paying servers... but not by much. It's actually a full C4 running game. :3

That sucks all your gear has dropped so much ; ; Look at it as being extra cash now rather than losing money from then! Sorry to hear you're retiring RDM permanently; you were great at it. ;) I absolutely love the job, but I'm just a sucker for being busy during exp. And I play too many mages. =P

Yep! That's just how it worked out. I've long since re-made the money I paid for it all, so when I logged in this morning to 4 million in my in-box, I went o.O . I now have more money than I've ever had on the game before!
