thistlechaserSo last night I put the remainder of the sweet and sour sauce in the fridge, and overnight it became the best stuff ever! It got a lot thicker (to exactly how I wanted it) and the flavors somehow changed (I couldn't taste/smell the vinegar any longer). Even though there was a lot of it left, I ate almost all of it! I had some of those... fried wonton strips? I forget what they're called. They're almost unknown here on the west coast, but found in every chinese place on the east -- or at least in New York. Wonton wrapper cut into strips and fried, placed on tables in bowls to put into your wonton soup. Asian stores sell some pre-packaged, so I used those to eat the sweet and sour sauce. So so so so so good! So interesting tasting! Sweet and sour and rich and tangy and salty. Mmmm, I want to make more right now!

Sometimes it seems like I have the only working TH on the game. So many people complain that theirs doesn't work, but mine seems to work really well (and it's just TH1). For the second time, we got the G1 paper to drop on the first mob, and after that we went key hunting and got it off the first kill as well. Could be luck, but still, it's nice. :)
We skilled after key hunting, because we were done so fast. Got 15 dagger levels! Yay! I don't have time to melee much as BRD, but it's nice to know that when I do my dagger will be capped.
Went digging in the Desert, even though this is the weekend. I figured that if digging elsewhere is going to suck as badly as Desert-digging, I might as well go to the Desert. Worked well, this time! I was nearly alone, which means I got my 100 items fast. I had brought 35 stacks, so I'm sitting on about half of them for tomorrow. Gold ore x3, darksteel ore x1. I realized that I'm basically making all my money through digging now, I almost never farm/craft anymore. (Except turning dug up bonechips into animal glue, which I did tonight.)
My chocobo chick seems to be falling behind everyone else's. It's not met a friend even once, and it hasn't done anything interesting (like getting sick or actually doing much of anything). I keep wanting to start over (I want a girl, or a better named boy), but I figure I should stick with it until it gets big enough to call, then retire it or breed it for a new one.
I'm looking forward to breeding them, because I want to use horse-style naming to name the chicks. Take a word from the mother's name and one from the father's name and there: Chick's name! I can see myself keeping long charts of which birds breed with which ones. :)
Tried to go farming in Davoi for lizard eggs (since they're used to make chocobo food), but every spawn was camped. o.O I stuck around for a while, but when I "stole" a lizard from someone (my stun was faster than his great katana) I got disgusted with myself and left. I have enough eggs to hold me for a while, maybe by the time I'm out of them it'll be more sane to farm them.
Waiting for a Besieged to hit now. Hopefully it won't be too late, want to go to bed soon. zzz

No meat! o.O That boggled me when I first got out here (I thought they left it out by mistake), but now it makes me happy -- something on the menu I can order without worrying if there will be meat in it!
