Boo, chocobo baby has been asleep all day, and even though is starving, won't eat while asleep. Slacker bird!

Digging: Since I had success in the Desert yesterday, went there again today. Saw five diggers while running from the telepoint to the city to change jobs, yet still hopped on a bird and tried anyway. Was as sucky as expected, so went to Meri Mountains. 2 gold beastcoins. Yay.

Some people from a LS we know needed help farming the moss for a Windy mission, so a few folks from my LS went out to help them. We had three deaths against VT mobs. >< The level 75 BRD had to be told to ballad the mage. And, no matter that we had downtime waiting for MP, somehow he never used ballad until we told him to. I almost fell out of my chair when I did a /search and saw he was BRD 75. How can anyone suck that much at level 75? He was /WHM, and our only healer for most of the time. (lol BRD/WHM with no echo drops against goobs)

Didn't do much else, other than set more of my mules up to garden. This will be four of us (me and three mules) growing stuff to feed the slacker chocobo chicks. At least I know what I should be feeding a digger-to-be chick, so I can target the right stuff to grow.

Hurry and attack, Besieged mobs. I want to go to bed.

Gregarious Worms!

I managed to get some! Got three from an earthen pot. Can't remember the day I planted, but I picked on Earthsday.

Earthen Pot + no crystal. :3 Thought I'd share.

(Note: You will get messes of little worms and la theine cabbages this way, too. Only three worms out of ten pots. T_T)

My 5 mules will be growing a smorgasbord(sp?) of food. No crystals yet, but I know to a) avoid wind unless I want to grown my own gyshal greens -.-, b) the worms seem to come from light/dark crystals, and c) fire crystals get you the tokopekko grass for medicine/herb paste.

Oh I've had a BRD complain about the downtime/slow exp of a merit party, which he attributed to 2/4 melees not subbing NIN. Nevermind the fact that I got ballad 4 times in the course of 1+ hour of exping, and most of that was only ballad II. This would be ok if he was too busy helping cure, or pulling, or w/e. Unfortunately, he spends his 30 seconds of down time standing around or pulling a mob of mobs prematurely. Near the end he even had the audacity to threaten us to let him skill-up sword or he disbands.

I'm sorry to say, and I hope I don't offend any good BRDs out there, but you gotta admit, BRDs are pampered as long as they sing "those 4 soungs" in a party. With merit parties suddently they're asked to do a lot more than they're used to, and some just don't have what it takes to be a good endgame BRD.

Oh, and EVERYONE with an active spell-list: WHM BLM RDM SMN BLU BRD NIN PLD DRK and anyone subing any of these jobs should ALWAYS carry a few echo drops (hell, make it a stack) when out adventuring. Exceptions can be made for AH runs from your mog house. They're even buyable from NPCs for like 800gil each.

Woo, thanks! I set Yagudokisses and Fishingbot up to garden, which leaves only Kat not doing it (the run from the Windy AH to MH seems annoyingly long, longer than any other city, so I hate to garden there). Unfortunately Catsoup can't at all, since he's off in Jeuno. Maybe I'll dedicate one person to trying to get them! FB and Yagudo are going to be growing carrots, since that's what diggers need to eat.

My notes are at home and I'm at work, so you might want to confirm this with the chocobo info NPC at the stables.

To dig well, a chocobo wants a high rating in discernment(spelling? Right word? Something like that. The only dis- word in all the attributes). To get a high dis-whatever, they need to... um. Play with children, listen to music, and one other thing. Carrots are the food they should be eating, the only one that raises dis-whatever.

Agreed on a, b, and c, I've seen those as well. You might check Somepage's listing, it seems pretty accurate (it's what I'm using).

Good luck!

I don't know if one type of carrot is better than another type, or if/how carrot paste differs. The info NPC isn't all that helpful. :/

That's just what I was thinking. BRDs have such a free ride to 75... On one hand, I feel guilty (dirty!) playing one, but on the other I'm in a LS static so my ride would be just as "free" no matter what job I was playing.

Totally agreed. A NIN in our LS completes his stack every time he outpost teleports (the NPCs there sell them), so he's never without.

Did a pre-ToAU roaming party in Sky with a BRD on my RDM/WHM. Always a little stressed when I'm main healer, but usually pull through okay. I'll be the first to admit that my main healing skills leave something to be desired, but usually nobody dies.

This time, I rarely got Ballad and was told it would "slow down" the party if he had to keep coming back to put Ballad on me when I politely requested it in /tells. My brain shut down from the stupid at that point. Lil bit of slow running back to give MP to your healer or lot of slow when no Ballad means I'm 5 minutes shy of being able to Convert. Oddly enough, the melee were annoyed when I ran out of MP, and I started getting Ballad more often after that :P

Oh yeah, and no sympathy for the no echo drop having asshats out there. Can't express my profound annoyance with echo dropless WHMs in particular, however. Especially on mobs like imps, cockatrices, and IMPS - and I'm not subbing WHM.

My echo drops NEVER leave my inventory, not even when I dig. If imps are going to be one of the mobs, that gets upped to 2 stacks.

Amen, my main jobs is MNK/whatever (often /WAR, /NIN, or /WHM) and RNG/NIN. I just don't take schos out of my inventory. I always have a full stack of antidote, echos, silent oil, and prism powder on me. It doesn't matter if I can cast Tonko, I still have powder on me. It doesn't matter if I'm WHM main at the moment, I still have those 4 stacks on me. It's a healthy habit to be in, me thinks z.zb

I can't count the number of times (especially in BCs and Dynamis o.O; ) when I've ran off to give a mage-main some echos 'cause they ran out (only brought 2 or 3). Or I've sat down on the body of someone who died from Poisonga II 'cause they didn't think to bring antidote and the mages were dead/had no MP. I learned all about the evils of Poison with I was little MNK in Meph Mountains vs. lizard and I haven't forgotten.
