Yay weekend! (FFXI)

Tonight was a better night. In fact, it was the first time I've had a really good game-night in a while!

Leveled SAM to 12, almost to 13. Highlight of the night was snagging Spook in KRT (T ghost, drops traveler's mantle). Killed him and didn't die! Didn't get the mantle drop, but still cool. I really enjoy XPing in KRT, nice and quiet and almost no one else around to bother you.

Unfortunately tomorrow I'll probably head down to LTP. Don't really like XPing there, too much aggro and too many other people.

The real fun of the night was two level 6 Besiegeds! Second one was actually full! I've not seen a full Besieged since back when they started. Lagged like hell, but was still fun. Did BRD for both, which I'm sure is why I enjoyed them. I don't know why I like playing BRD in Besieged when I don't overly care about it otherwise. It's nice to be able to help random people though, and I know how great Ballad is to anyone with MP. (Plus it's cool that my songs actually stick more now -- I even landed a couple on the big NMs!)

In my continued losing fight against spending money, I bought a wind torque. Seemed a handy thing, though the near-million pricetag made me sad. One more BRD level and I can wear it and my crown. Unfortunately XP static isn't meeting tomorrow, but I don't mind at all. Yay sleeping in on a Saturday!

I wish I could stop quibbling about FFXII -- I keep sort of wanting to try it out, but I know if I bought it I'd just totally ignore it and play FFXI. Mostly I just want to see it more than play it. Wish there would be videos of it posted, but I guess since it's on PS2 that'll be either slow or never happening.

You could go to Ghelsba. :) Once I hit 14-15 on the orcs in Ghelsba, I'd move to Fort and kill the ones there. Easily got to 17, and could have stayed longer by just moving up another tier.

There's alot of FFXII vids on Youtube. The vids of the demo would probably be best if you don't want to be spoiled. Or if you don't mind spoilers (even though it's not much of a spoiler), the vid of the first boss fight that someone made and narrated with explanations of the battle system.

You could also try renting FFXII from Blockbuster or something :3 Just toss out a few bucks and give it a weekend to try or something [shrugs] If you like it, get it. There was a FFXII demo released, but it was poop :/ Not very long and didn't give you a good feel for the game at all IMO.

You must have been there >.>; I had to warn them, I was the WHM. I know what she'd do to them. Make them hard and then kill them in one shot; shatter them ; ; Then I'd have to Raise them and put them back together.

(Though, more seriously, I've had some problems getting people out from under her after they died next to her. She kept Petri/AoE killing so fast that they just had to lay there until she moved or accept a Tractor (and a zone with it.))

Yeah, I've seen those, but... *watches again*. It does seem pretty cool.

I was just hoping for a lot of videos of different stuff, like you can find for FFXI.

Hee, thanks! But I'll probably use the advice from the other comment and just rent it for a weekend. Sometime later, once all the talk has died down. (Right now people are talking about it endlessly, for hours and hours, on FFXI, and it's making me NOT want to play it.)
