FFXI post: Shorter version

I wrote a really long FFXI post last night to make up for not posting for a week or so, then deleted it a short time later because it was half depressing and half corny. So here's the short version.

* Got my goldsmithing shades yesterday, and they look pretty good! Two pairs of glasses down, one to go.
* My sword is almost capped at 240, thanks to Besieged. Just need 5 or so more levels, then I can get my trial weapon.
* I caught five Besiegeds in three days, which made me uber happy. (Besieged is the one thing in FFXI I really have fun at. Plus: Limit points, sword skilling.)
* BRD static hit 70 yesterday. We'll be done soon! YAY!
* We're starting our Assault static next week. Woo! Hopefully it'll go well and we won't die too much.

If I get another black pudding from the event items, I'm going to kill something. Probably the pudding. I've gotten six in a row, not one single new item yet. I want a candy ring, candy cane, or turkey like everyone else is getting! *shakes fist*

I heard what item you got was based on 1)Holiday Tree or no tree 2)What new holiday furnishing you're using. So I hate to ask the obvious question, but have you tried switching things up?

Huh, that's interesting. I hadn't thought about trees (I have none in place). I did wonder if it was item-related though, so after the first puddings I took out one thing (platter) then when I was still getting them I took out a second piece (coffer). Both are still in my safe, but only the stocking is in my MH layout.

Still getting puddings. :/

The tree is for the Dream Hat+1 present if you didn't get in a former year, as for the rest of it I have all 3 new furnitures on 2 characters and am getting no new treats either ;(

Assault static indeed! Here's hoping. Nilych here, n'case you forgot the ljname...I really should get around to changing it. Or not. Don't want to make it TOO easy to find me.

68 & 2/3rds Samurai now...69 should be doable by saturday...with a load of luck, 70 might even be (i did do 67 w/ no buffer to present in a day, though that included the full gamut of party types - The Good (well-oiled machine vs imps), the Bad (I'm the only one to WS...trying to selfchain every 3min just so the BLM doesn't look so bored.), and the Ugly (5 melees and a SMN). I miss the static.
