Strawberry Sundays for all! (RL, FFXI)

I either need a strawberry icon or to post less about them. One of the two. And see how clever I was in the title? Haw haw, I crack me up~ :P

Anyway. Got up early and went off to the farmer's market. Blech. That means I didn't get to sleep in either weekend day, which pretty much sucks. Market was okay, though not the great/fun/magical experience it was last week.

Oddly, the best thing about going there is I get to see trains. (The market takes place in a train station parking lot.) Trains are so cool! So big! So fast and smooth! So sleek! I'd love to work in the market just so I'd have an excuse to watch the trains for hours.

I bought a whole mess of strawberries -- too many! I ate some in a smoothie, two bowls of them cut up, and some just whole, plus I have a whole mess of them left over for the next couple days. (I froze some as well -- I know you can't freeze them and thaw them, but I'm going to see how using them frozen will be.)

Smoothie of the day was darned, darned good. Black cherry yogurt, frozen black cherries, and some fresh strawberries. Mmmmmm. I need to go buy more flavored yogurts soon, I'm almost out. (Why the heck did I buy a big container of plain when I could just stick with flavors?)

FFXI: Had its ups and down. Getting really tired of fishing, but I caught 100 more and made a very slight improvement on my fish to turn in. Then thankfully Nai poked to go farm sleepy sheep for whatever cloth was needed for PUP whatever. We saw Peallaidh, but didn't grab him. Turned out to be a good decision, since he ate another duo soon after. Good thing Nai's smart!

During the sheep farming I got merit #4. The merit up animation is kind of skilly. I'm sort of not happy about how I spent them, but it's probably the best decision. I had been saving all four for my next crit hit+, but... I spent it on two MP+ and 1 HP+ instead. See, as a naked BRD I have 139 MP, not enough to raise or reraise. I wanted 150 while naked. So I needed two MP merits for that. And since I was spending anyway, the HP one might keep me alive some day. And HP/MP will help both DRK and BRD, while crit hit up won't do overly much for BRD. But now I have to start saving again, all the way from the beginning. :/

Then I was going to go fishing again, but got saved when a LS person needed a test. We went down to SSG and started killing, when who showed up? Novv the Coatstealer. Depressingly, he didn't give me my coat. Though I was torn because I don't care about the coat. La la la la, I can't hear you! I don't care! La la la! But I was still sad. Stupid fish. (But I don't care~ So there! ; ; )

I get the feeling other stuff happened today, but I can't remember what. Oh yeah, a Besieged. And I wanted to go back to the Japanese place for lunch again, but I have so much stuff from the market I couldn't justify going out.

Really, the MP merits will pay for themselves. Your DRK now has a 20mp deeper pool :) That's enough to cast Aspir, twice even! More merits will come [ramps Midgard up from lvl1 Besieges to lvl7 in 24 hours] O:)

I haven't used my Minstrel's Coat since level 72 when I could get Errant body for /whm. If I'm on /nin I'll take SH or even AF body over Minstrel's Coat every time. Camping Novv really isn't worth it unless you're in your 60s IMO.

Sorry to always natter on about food here, but we freeze excess strawberries all the time and use 'em in smoothies later. Works great!

Oh, that's good to hear! I'm wearing Errant body as well. One day I'll get the Assault body piece and use that instead, but that won't be for a long while yet.

Coming from a HP whore's point of view, I have 1 merit in MP, 0 in HP. I think MP is more beneficial for a Hume (And really any race, possibly barring Taru) than the HP is.

Or maybe it's because I'm leveling PLD and mage jobs and I'm used to Taru-like MP.

Also, I like the Merit Point animation. =p It looks less artifacty than the Level Up animation. =p
