Lazy, Smart, or Both?
Jan. 25th, 2003 10:10 pmI love grocery shopping online. For a $4.95 delivery charge, I don't have to bother going to the store, shopping, packing my car, or bringing it in from the car. They'd even put it away for me if I wanted, though I like to do that myself. They even give you a two hour delivery window, that's pretty darned handy. Put my order in tonight (after 10 PM!), and they're bringing it tomorrow afternoon. How can you beat that? All that time and effort saved, for under $5.
The only downside to online shopping is their substituting. Since this is the weekend, they'll likely be out of some of the on-sale stuff. Sometimes their substitutions are... funky. They're really nice and accurate though. Three delivered of between $150-$200 each, and only once has there been a mistake, and that was just a scent within the correct brand (they sent regular when I ordered unscented).
I only do this once in a while, when I need a big order. Under $150 is a $9.95 delivery charge, which is still worth it, but...
