FFXI post: attempt 2
Nov. 19th, 2007 09:43 pmI wrote a post earlier tonight, but deleted it without ever posting it. Too much depressing stuff in it.
Let's focus on the positive!
While I hate the whole price gouging thing and have never before taken part of it (I use my crafting skills for good, not evil~!), I had a half-stack of deathstones sitting on my mule for months, so decided to try selling them. (They go into the new gobbiebag quests.) History was 15K. Zero up. As a laugh, I listed one at 100K. Minutes later, it sold. o.O Two more sold (from someone else) after it for 200K. I listed one just below that and it sold. Gah. 300K for two sales of some stones I had been ready to vendor a couple weeks ago. And I still have 3 more to sell, too.
New MH guild point items are 200K. Thistle has 10K right now. Bah. /wrist
On the other hand, I need to decide what to do with Kat the Bonecrafter. My goal with her is to take her to 80 for reraise items made with the bits I get through H&C. Thus she really does not need apron, MH items, etc. In theory, she doesn't even need key items since I get the anima-bits through H&C, she just needs to join them with normal bits. So I could stop turn-ins on her. However, if I went for the 40K key item, she could make the anima bits herself, too. That would be handy for LS folks (and maybe to sell, too) so I might do that... (She hit 71 tonight, too.)
The biggest depressing thing of the night was that SE had another NPC bug and the Chinese New Year mobs were out (Lucky Rat). For a few hours people were able to trade to them and get their snowmen, but by the time I got home, SE corrected the issue. While the snowmen are cute, not getting cute items wouldn't be enough to upset me. The issue is that they're ice moghancement. Ice. What I've been paying 300K per lamp to get. (There are two other items with ice energy, but they're a bed and a bed-sized item, so you can't use that many due to lack of space.) To get three ice moghancement items (with the best storage of any ice item in the game!) would have saved me a minimum of 900,000 gil. But I missed it. Because I was stuck at work. *sigh* Chinese New Year is in Febuary, so I suppose we'll get them then. Dream boots for Christmas, snowmen when the lucky rats return. :(
Screenshots:
Katerwaul got her bonecrafting shades -- do they not look totally horrible? Looks even worse in person than in the screenshot, looks like her hair blurred into her eyes.
Bet you didn't know DRKs could use Counterstance! Me, DRK 75:

This amused me. We usually rock the socks off of the Double Agent assault, but things went really wrong on this one and we actually had deaths. I was amused how they gathered around my body.
Life needs to get less depressing and less stressed soon. :/
