First off, this is the funniest animated gif I've seen in a long, long time: Hillary! I choose you! I snickered all the way through it.

In FFXI land, I spent the whole day running around. Hours of running around! I did the three new teleport/recall quests. Meh storylines for the most part (though I liked the EN one a little), mostly just excuses to make you run everywhere. I had one death because I totally forgot that the hippos were truesight. ><

I didn't do the BLM quest because my BLM will likely never be high enough to use the scroll and I was sick of running around through aggro.

Teamed up with a LS member to do the new Sandy "mission" fight against the MNK orc. Man, was that a bad area to fight -- I spent half the battle controlling the gnole aggro we had. There was just no safe place to fight. It sure was fun to use RDM in the "real world" (not campaign) though, hopefully I'll have a chance to use it again soon.

Meh reward on the Sandy mission (...yay... fishing rod...), but the CSs were so darned cute they made up for it. And I realized something! I think FFXI elves are like puppies and kittens! When they're young their eyes are really really blue:

But when they get older, they dull down in color:

The elf kids are soooooo cute! Go ahead and pout, it will only make you cuter. (Text blurred so no spoilers.)

It's really nice to see the better animation we're getting now. We never would have seen animation like this in old CSs. (Blurred again.)

So got lots done, but I'm looking forward to a quieter day tomorrow.

Yeah, the animation in this expansion, so far, has been wonderful. It's kind of nice to play through the missions and such from each expansion just to see the progress that's been made, but on the other hand, it kind of sucks if you're just getting into early game stuff and knowing the truly good eye-candy is a long way off.

I love the smirk Exenmille gives you in the third mission. Hard to believe he's such a grouchy old codger in the current timeline.

I guess at some point this week, I need to actually log in for the first time in 2 1/2 months and download all the patches so I can get back to the new missions. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure that it was Dyna which burned me out, or the rediculous amount of running on foot that you had to do to unlock all the maws and get to the different cities. I -think- I've got all of the maws done, but I might still be missing one somewhere. Really could care less at this point unless it's absolutely imperitive.

I'm gonna post this here since I'm stuck at work and can't remember my password to POL IM bomb you /loser. Went and got Val and Boose Asuran Claw last night. I'd be up for helping you get it too, but last night's outting made it abundantly clear that a WHM would have to come along as well x.x; At least, if we hunted Lobisons again. They're VT and real buggers, but didn't have to play any games to get them onto their back legs. They were strutting around like they owned the place regardless of time of day or if they were provoked or not. Lemme know if you're interested :3

Whenever puppy isn't gnawing on your face is good. (You have my sympathies since I'm a kitty chew thing right now myself.) I usually have a WHM in my gobbiebag, though I'm good at tarunapping others if he isn't available. We could trio them, though a couple others along would be helpful (like someone who could refresh/ballad/roll >.>a Neta and Val/Boose were alternating their cures to ease the stress on Neta's MP.) Each fight took us about 15 minutes, but we only had to fight 3 for Boose and Val to learn it.
