Tonight's tasks: One success, one failed (RL, FFXI)

Failed: For some reason, my computer now refuses to communicate with my camera. c.c It used to work! I checked the connection, I reinstalled the driver, it just refuses to download the photos off it. Bah. That means no pictures of my signed Ratha book. :( I'm going to have to deal with the issue though, because what's the use of having a digital camera you can't get the photos off of?

Success, sort of: I logged off early to try to get the Fishingbot icon working. Thistle's came together rather easily, but FB's just didn't want to work. My first efforts were variations on:

I tried all different placements for the text (side, bottom, L shaped, top) but nothing really worked. Finally I changed the background and that sort of worked better. I'm still very not happy with the text, but his name is so darned long it really reduces the options. :/ Such a good drawing, I wish my icon-making skills matched! It's uploaded and in use for now. (Credit for the background idea goes to the long-gone Delee. She used to do that 'use an element of the picture blown up as the background' for all of our MUSH artwork. It was a great idea!)

I wasn't going to post about FFXI stuff again today, but I had a couple screenshots to edit and the best Campaign ever! I arrived when the attack was already in progress. I had one merit and three limit points. See what I have in the screenshot? :D That was over 11 thousand XP in one Campaign battle. It took hours! I started turning in my tags every 30 minutes in fear that I'd crash and lose everything. :D (Yeah, my number in my LS comment isn't exactly right, I was so excited I hadn't deducted the three LP I had started with. :P )

The 'take your NPC to the past' CSs amused me muchly. Me, with less sense of direction than a stone, got told this by my guy:

Ha ha ha. Good luck there. You and me are going to be lost until we're old and grey!

Lastly, this amused me. Last night, way past my bedtime for the Nyz Assault stuff, all of our ??? items were nothing good:

We had the same problem with our first digital camera. It eventually extended to all of our computers. Dunno what the issue was, but with it being across multiple systems, I'm pretty sure it wasn't us. We ended up by just getting a card reader and that worked much, much better anyway. No need to mess with software, they just act like any disk drive! You can get internal ones or various types that just plug into an external USB port.

Haha, a Regen collar is pretty good compared to most of the crap you'll get.

Leather boots/rings/gorgets, bronze subligar, feather collars, bronze swords... Holy crap, Batman!

Yeah, it's just that it dropped off JEJ and I was tired enough that I got my hopes up, so I was kind of down when I saw it. :P Silly, silly me! (Our other drops were a copper ring and a shell ring -- how typical!)
