What a welcome bac-- *CHOMP!* (WoW)

I turned the game on for the month. Download/update took a good seven hours (!!!), and the registration site was down for hours, but eventually I got on.

Monsters (flying dragons and giant undead thingies) were attacking the city (go go go Besieged?), so I checked that out for a while.

Unfortunately Every Single Plugin stopped working. >< I found a bunch of them, but I'm still missing some. Will deal with it tomorrow. Unfortunately my macro/button bars are all messed up, bah.

WoW finally (finally!) got a windowed mode! Yay! That's very handy.

I hit 300 in skinning, which unfortunately is my cap. (I still don't have the BC expansion pack, maybe never will.)

Flying around is still my favorite thing in game. Flying and the Hunter (BST) pet system are the two things I'd really, really, really like to bring to FFXI. <3 my ghost kittypet.

zzzz Sleepy, but darned trolls are headed in to attack the city (in FFXI). Guess I'll wait for them.

Wow has a new expansion coming out Thursday, which is why you've had such trouble getting back in. Also why your addons don't work. u.u

I've been running WoW in windowed mode for months. :) Not sure why you didn't have it.

Alas that tons of patches take tons of time to download and apply, especially when the servers are being beat up. :/

There's a lot of good stuff in BC, and as kelen pointed out there's an expansion being released in a few days.

The customization we're allowed to do with WoW has a drawback when they patch or modify the game. HOPEfully this won't be such a problem with the move to Wrath of the Lich King (the reason for the undead attack on the city!). My suggestion would be to go to www.wowinterface.com and see their 3.0.2 Survival Guide, if your button bars are messed up there's a terrific one that I've been using called Bartender 4. :) /bt4 launches the options editor so you can customize. Check it out. :)

Actually, WoW had windowed mode since launch ^^ I've always switched between full-screen and windowed mode, since, when I started playing, I only had the one computer, so I'd switch to, say, a web browser to lookup quests, etc...

What level is your hunter?

I got mine to 27 really quickly, and have a 68 warlock, but I can't stand to play either of them anymore. The pathing issues with pets drives me crazy. (*Attack that creature all the way over there!* *watches pet run to attack it* *watches pet and mob run back toward me* *watches pet and mob run past me and start fighting behind me*...)

Yeah, if you haven't logged in or updated addons for a while, things may be a little messed up. But in general, things are better once you get sorted out. Macros and keybindings are stored on the server now so if you switch computers, all your stuff will still work. There's also a built-in threat feedback system, no more CPU-hogging combat-parsing addons which have to make calculated guesses at your threat level.

Inscription, the new profession, is kinda nifty. You can make Glyphs which modify your spells. They're kinda like enchantments for your spellbook. For example, Hunter glyphs: http://www.wowhead.com/?items=16.3

Your talent points were also reset and all classes talents have been changed quite a bit.

The monsters in the cities are part of the prologue for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The Lich King is attempting to invade the rest of Azeroth from the continent of Northrend. The Stormwind king, Varian Wrynn, is back and kicking butt.

Sorry to reply to myself, but regarding addons: You can find updated versions of the addons you use at http://www.curse.com/ or http://www.wowinterface.com/. Those are the best sites for addon updates, I've found. All the WowAce addons are hosted through Curse now.

Eek! Can't believe I missed it this long! Or, well, I guess it's not surprising. Last time I played, I forgot that the escape key/menu lead to anything other than logging out.

What level is your hunter?

Um, 42 I think, maybe 43. I level sloooowly.

And yeah, the pathing thing is amusing. That event I mentioned, with the flying dragons attacking? I could set my pet to attack them and he just ran and ran and ran... Who knows where he was going, since there's no path into th sky. Eventually he just vanished and I had to call him.

Per comments below, apparently it's always had it! I must be blind! :P

And thanks! Bartender 4 is what I'm using, yeah. But for some reason it ate all my buttons (not even when I installed it, about an hour later) so now I'm trying to remember where I had everything. (Funny that I can tell right away when something is in the wrong place, but I can't remember where the right spot is...)

I actually had a queue to log in! That was annoying (and the first time it ever happened). I suppose that'll keep happening for my month. :P

And yeah, I figured the addon thing might happen after that. Lots of the ones I downloaded said something like 'Wrath tested', but not all of them were.
