BSG: Anticlimactic and I knew it...
Feb. 13th, 2009 01:15 pmI just finished season three. The last couple eps had their ups and downs.
Ups: The court scenes. I went into it knowing Baltar was 100% guilty, but by the end of Lee's big speech, I became totally undecided. (I need to rewatch the eps! Wish I hadn't been deleting them as I watched them.) Everything Lee said was reasonable, that it was a bad time and everyone was doing what they had to to survive... and Baltar did have a gun held to his head to force him to sign the death list... I love how the ep was able to change my mind.
Downs: "Hi, I'm a cylon!" "no wai, me 2!" "I'm one, too!" "Hi! I guess I'm one, too!"
After being so annoyed at being spoiled about the Chief for so long, I was expecting something more than that. Not to mention, four of them given away at once? I was kind of expecting them to draw it out and make us wait for it, not "Oh hi! We're cylons!".
I knew it: Starbuck's alive. How many times did I say in comments that I wouldn't believe she was really dead until the series ended and she was still a dead body? Bah.
I guess I've gotten my expectations set too high, but I was disappointed by so much of season three.
Hopefully season four will be better! On to it now! Yay! (I still need to watch Razor, but I keep putting it off. I guess I will once I'm caught up.)

Season 1 is still my favorite overall. It had fewer episodes, so it had tighter plotting and less Executive Meddling.

Date: 2009-02-13 09:59 pm (UTC)Just kidding. I remembered seeing a commercial about the end of season 3 back before it aired so now that's it's aired I am just waiting to find out that like a billion people are cylons. Especially with the 5 unknown models (In on S3E10 right now, watched a bunch last night).
I used to like starbuck but she's just a whore now. I can see her totally ending up like Ellen, which is good cause maybe she'll get killed soon, whom I never liked. Also, as far as I am I can almost feel sorry for Baltar.
I mean, he has done bad things but he always seems the most shattered over his decisions and he's gone through hell and back because of them. I mean, shooting people out airlocks? No problem, we don't have to feel bad about that. Shooting down friendly ships? No problem, that's ok to. Of course we did all those things of our own free will an-z0mg! You approved death list! YOU BAD! YOU DIE NOW! *rolls eyes*
Oddly enough he seems the most human to me because he is so flawed. Maybe it's just cause I can kind of relate to him because I'd probably end up similar if I was put in the same situation. So it's probably more of a personal connection with the character. *wanders off to plot something*

Agreed to all that. I liked Starbuck originally, but now... is there a man she wouldn't sleep with? And yeah, Baltar is odd, I could almost (almost!) feel bad for him.

I think a lot of us would be (unfortunately)...
