Singing makes it better! (BSG)

thistlechaserI hope that early season four was a rough patch and things will be better now that I'm through it. Either way, Gaeta singing makes it all worth it. God, what a voice! I hadn't thought it could really be the actor's, but I dared to google it and found that it really is him. (Also found: many sites claiming that he's the last cylon, but as far as I know the final one isn't known yet, so they must have been just guesses.)
I had had no idea he did the voice acting for L in Death Note. I have to find a dubbed version of the series so I can check it out. :D
Plot-wise, things seem to be picking up. Hopefully we've seen the last of Baltar's god-awful sex/cult thing (Worst Plot Idea Ever), what with him and the president accidentally abducted by the cylon baseship.
Laura Roslin's cancer storyline is so hard to watch. Painful and dark and sad (which makes it great!). I've always loved the whole 'death is a boat ride across a river, your loved ones on the other shore' idea. Heck, BSG uses a lot of my more positive religious ideas (bet most people thought I had none! Ha!). Related: Edward James Olmos needs to record books on tape. Lord, I could listen to that man reading all day. His voice is as complex and as interesting as his face.
Chief needs to straighten up (and grow his damned hair back) or toss himself out an airlock. He was my favorite character of them all, but now I dislike him so much. You have a kid! If nothing else, pull yourself together for him! PS: You look horrible bald. Grow your hair back and be cute again! (Hmm, I wonder if this is like Adama's mustache. Once Chief goes back to normal, he'll go back to looking normal again, too?)
I meant to post about Lucy Lawless/Three back in her eps, but I always had bigger things to write about. I'm glad she got boxed, as (unfortunately and unfairly) I couldn't see past Lucy Lawless/Xena to believe any other character. Unfortunately she ruined every scene she was in, totally knocking me out of the storyline and seeing her just as an actress/Xena. Blah.

Date: 2009-02-18 10:09 pm (UTC)Looking this up was how I discovered that the actor is the son of Donna Wong-Juliani and the late John Juliani (who once challenged the Stratford Festival's artistic director to a duel) - who were/are big names in the Canadian theatrical and operatic world. Makes me love Alessandro Juliani and Gaeta all the more. :-)
