The last spoiler I've seen (and happily I've had very few spoilers altogether) was from [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets. It was an image of Bill Adama with the text "I'll never forgive you for what you did to Felix Gaeta" over it. Based on that, I knew something bad was going to happen to Gaeta. I had assumed it would be something unfair, but now I'm thinking the person who made that secret was just stupid.

I'm in the middle of the Gaeta-created revolution now. *sigh* I had liked the character so much, I can't believe he's done this. I can understand him being depressed about his leg, lost about the whole Earth thing, but neither is an excuse for starting this.

There's nothing so bad that Adama could do that would make me agree with that secret. Airlock Gaeta, he deserves it. Shoot him in the head? Waste of a bullet. You stupid, stupid man. :/

And on emotions: BSG keeps doing something great that bugs me. I dislike Anders a lot. Boring boring character, I couldn't care less if he were killed... but when the rebels started kicking the crap out of him I felt awful. :/ BSG keeps doing that: Takes characters I think I don't care about and suddenly making me care. (This probably means that they'll make me care about Gaeta again before he's killed, and make me feel awful once he's dead. :D )

This ep and two more until I'm caught up. Only a few total left until the series is over. That can't be! D:

You should watch the webisodes to find out more about why Gaeta is behaving like this. There's also a good writeup of it here: http://io9.com/5143404/why-is-gaeta-so-bad (writing about "The Oath" episode, so make sure you've seen that one!).

See what I meant though?! :)

Oooh, yeah, I hadn't seen any of the webisodes yet, I meant to look into downloading those! And I just finished The Oath, so I should be good to go. Thanks for the link! :D

Edit: Huh, interesting reading. I remembered the whole New Caprica thing about his being part of the resistance, the ep even mentioned it and I mentally nodded to it... then promptly forgot it. The whole thing with almost tossing him out the airlock was so horrible...

And apparently I really need to see those webisodes. That's a lot of plot that I missed!

So... maybe it's more understandable, and while that doesn't make it more right, it makes tragic instead of something to get angry over. :/

I was going to post about the webisodes if you hadn't seen them yet. They do provide a good bit of background on what made Gaeta turn.

I thought that the people who were refusing to let the Cylon FTL drives be installed on their ship have a good point: there are still Cylons out there who could very easily hack into their ships if they were networked together. Why no one actually decides to raise this *specific* point, I don't know. -_-; On the other hand, it doesn't justify a mutiny/coup.

Up until this episode, I thought everyone had gone to almost comedic lengths to keep Zarek out of power. Now I see that they had a very, very good reason, particularly given what he's about to do.

Anders is annoying, but he's harmless, so seeing him get beat down like that made me sad, too.

Also, now that I know you've seen the episode where it happens (and I think it was 11, not 12) poor Dee. ;_; Everything went so wrong for her after Billy died. It's not like none of it was her fault, but it's really sad. Also, she had been one of the leading candidates for being the last Cylon (despite the episode where they said only four of the final five were with the fleet, which killed my theory that it was Gaeta) so this may have been the writers' way of driving home the point that she wasn't it.

Yeah, go see them, they're not long (maybe half an hour altogether?).

And yeah, it does make it kinda tragic, especially when you see him get steamrollered by Zarek and he's like "Uh... what just happened?..."

Oh, also! Chief Tyrol made me sad when he practically abandoned Nicholas after finding out he wasn't his father. I can see him feeling really betrayed and needing some time away to deal with this, and wanting a form of revenge on Hotdog, but it still made me sad.

Fun fact: Hotdog's actor is Edward James Olmos' son! There's a resemblance, but I didn't start looking for it until after I found out they were related.

Not reading the BSG stuff because I'm not that far in yet, but someone linked me to this (http://rolcats.com/) (because I'm Ukrainian) and it seems to be right up your alley

That's the second potential plot hole I've noticed. Perhaps I missed something, or maybe my knowledge of science is lacking, but why couldn't the half-cylon blood be again used to cure Laura's cancer? Was there something about it needing to be fetal? I'm trying to remember RL science... maybe I just forgot something. (But could RL science be applied to half-cylon blood?)

poor Dee. ;_; Everything went so wrong for her after Billy died.

God, yes. Man, that was such a waste and such a surprise.

And it's sad, but I had actually forgotten about Billy until I read your comment. So much has happened, so many people come and gone...

I'm kicking myself that I deleted the eps after watching them. I want to watch it all again now. I might have to re-download it...

Yeah. I kind of understand it (he's not the father, he said he hadn't really liked his wife/the mother... so he really has no ties to the kid), but still! There are so few children, I'd think he'd be overjoyed to be able to help take care of one. :/

Eek! I can't believe there's someone behind me! :P I'm torn between telling you to hurry up and telling you to take your time! There's so much good stuff to see... but once you catch up it's over. :(

Thanks for the link! That was great. :D

I'm guessing that the cancer was able to overcome the antibodies and thus any future applications wouldn't work at all. Personally, I thought the magic half-Cylon baby blood cure was a bit cheesy, but I didn't expect it to stop working. ;_; That hit me hard.

I'm wondering if Billy would have turned out to be a Cylon had his actor not left (yes, that's why they killed him off) given that Tory (Torey?) ended up taking his place.

Also, where do you download your episodes? I missed last Friday's and the usual webviewing places don't have them up. I think they're trying to encourage people to watch the last five eps as they air, but it's dumb to take away the backup system for people who may have missed them. Putting an episode up eight days later isn't going to help, dumbasses.

Ah, that makes sense. And yeah, it was a bit cheesy, but forgiveable with how good the rest of the show is. (Though I have to say, sadly I'm not enjoying the ep I'm seeing now, which is horrible since it's one of the last ones. Sam telling the other five all about how things used to be.)

Oh man, that's why they killed him? Bah, stupid actor! Billy would have been a ton better Cylon than Tory (Tori? However the heck you spell her name). I don't like her at all.

Also, where do you download your episodes?

And hmm, I need to grab Friday's ep... *does so now*

I really liked episode 15 because it gave so many answers to questions I'd had for a really long time, and lots of fuel for future speculation. Also, there's something ironic in the fact that Anders was only useful after he got shot in the head. ;p Also, the bit where he told Tyrol and Tory that they were planning on getting married back then was priceless.

Looking at Billy's actor's IMDB profile, I don't think leaving the show worked out so well for him.

And thanks! Will grab it this evening but I don't think I'll get to watch it until the weekend since [livejournal.com profile] grysar and I normally watch them together. So I'll just have to avoid your commentary on that one and then talk about it and the next episode on Monday. ^^

And if Billy had been one of the five instead of Tory, that'd have been even more amusing! :P

I guess I'll be LJ cutting things from now on, since I'm all caught up. Don't want to spoil people! :D
