American Idol (no spoilers outside of the cut)

For almost ten years now, I've been watching reality TV. Enjoying it. (It's fine if it's not your cup of tea, just move along to the next post on your friends list.)

In all those series in all those years, only twice has the person I wanted to win come in first place. Richard Hatch from the first season of Survivor, and Dan from the latest season of Big Brother. (Yes, nine years between the 'right' person winning!)

I had thought tonight would be time number three...



How the heck did Adam not win? Bah!

And why, oh why, were so many girls still holding up 'Marry me!' and "I want to date Adam!' signs when he's openly gay?

And were those two things related? :/

Thinking the results were a sure thing, I spoiled myself on purpose an hour before the show ended. Blah!

American Idol has made some stars like Kelly and Carrie but ugh, I didn't watch every season and I won't watch it again that's for sure. Melinda Doolitle and Adam prove that America is too retarded to choose their own talent stars. I didn't watch Kris sing his victory song and shit but I read Simon didn't even give him a standing ovation, I think he'll quit the show.

Any show that has America voting is likely to end up as disappointing (at best) to me. Still, in this case, I don't see how it happened. I thought teenage girls were going gaga over Adam? Kris is just so... bland. I don't know how people even stay awake for him.

I thought he was totally over-singing on Tuesday also and none of the judges said that. I like Adam a lot because he's not just a talented singer but a very charismatic person- but I don't feel like a biased fangirly type or anything and I just really thought Kris was strained trying to sing bigger songs, it didn't sound good to me. Also, monkey faces. I see magazines saying he's adorable so all the ladies love him.. to me he's about as adorable as he is memorable. In other words, like a piece of cardboard.
