thistlechaser: (Buh?)
[personal profile] thistlechaser
I love how a line can sound so sensible in a MMO, but in RL it'd make people go Buh?.

Life is stressy right now, and it doesn't help that I'm a stresspuppy in general. Work is insane. Really, I need three of me to have any chance of success in doing what I need to do for the next couple months. (So yes, I'm LJ posting! Tool I need to use is broken again so I'm semi-stuck and get a brain-break.)

WoW's going okay, though Druid is still really rough. It's very, very, very hard to play a job that doesn't handle adds well. (Or whatever 'adds' are called in WoW, when you're fighting one mob and a second joins in.) Hit 13 today. Little time to XP = leveling slowly. Leveling slowly = my usual! Can't wait to get to 20 so I can be a kitty! =^.^=

Sad day yesterday. Gave up Thistle on the MUX. It depressed me all night. I love everyone there, I want to hang out with people and chat OOCly, but I just don't feel like RPing him. Chickenface me logged off as soon as I sent the @mail, so I need to log on tonight (if I can~) and see if there are any replies. :/

Poked my head in on WoW RP server so people wouldn't think I dropped dead or something.

Blah this is a depressing post! Should I post it or shouldn't I? Will I post it and then make it private soon after? Let's see what The magic eight ball says!
Question: Should I post my post?

Guess I'm posting!

Chickenface indeed! :P I was a lot more worried that you told us in an @mail and then disappeared offline immediately thereafter than I was upset over losing Thistle. I can't deny that it's been really slow with our little group lately. I've done my best to try and liven it up, but Shera's not a very lively person. n.n;;

I'm really sad to see Thistle go, but appreciate you stepping in to say you just didn't feel like playing the character, rather than leaving us hanging. Hope we get to RP with you again someday!

I didn't want people to feel like they had to say something to me! That's the same reason why I generally log out so fast, so people don't feel forced to say something. (I know, I know, some people just want to say stuff! But still!)

And it's not your fault at all that our little group is slow! You're one of the most active people in it! :D

And i hope so, too! <3

Least you could have done is made a post on the bboard, rather than let some of us find out second-hand. You were in a scene where several people, including myself, were waiting for you, because it was an area your character wanted to go to. Running off to WoW or some other source of constant RP, then dropping off altogether without telling everyone who needed to know is pretty bad form.

I was attempting to not start Drama, something I thought you'd appreciate as a staffer.

I @mailed people from the Shera crew and CCed the head wiz. I had assumed that the staff communicate each other. If that is wrong, my bad.

See above. I RPed once with your character in, what, the last six months? Year? I wasn't about to @mail everyone I ever interacted with my entire time on the game, and there was no use in BB posting and chancing starting anything when most people have never interacted with me.

I play Luzaf, remember? You wanted to go to Arrapago to meet with him. You said the character might or might not hide for a while, you didn't say he would disappear altogether. Making a BBPost isn't starting drama, it's called basic courtesy. Posting wouldn't have started anything, if you hadn't interacted with most people on the game... NOT communicating with the people you intended to interact with, on the other hand, causes problems. Case in point. But I've said what I had to say.

...

Yes. I am fully aware of who you play.

I'm sorry for not being able to see into the future. Yes, at the time I was very much looking forward to going to Arrapago, I had hoped it would re-spark interest in my character. I apologize for not knowing then that it would not work.

9.9

Making a BBPost isn't starting drama, it's called basic courtesy.

Ah, I see. So you're the be-all and end-all on what's starting drama vs what's basic courtesy? No room for anyone else's opinion on the matter?

NOT communicating with the people you intended to interact with, on the other hand, causes problems. Case in point

Again. You are a staffer. I @mailed the head wiz. I had assumed the staff of the MUX communicated with each other. Apparently I was totally wrong.

But I've said what I had to say.

Indeed you have.

Ah, I see. So you're the be-all and end-all on what's starting drama vs what's basic courtesy?

On the Mux? Yeah. I sort of am. Since you've run a game yourself, you ought to know how courtesy works. But whatever. You enjoy that little bubble of yours.

Since you've run a game yourself

Exactly. Thus my confusion at the apparent lack of communication between staffers.

Now please drop this. I've had more than my fill of arguing over this. It ends now.

Well, I'm not the headwiz so it's not my problem. But whatever, I'm done.

Given the @mail was more of a 'hay, I'm taking a vacation from Thistle cause I can't wrap my brain around him' not 'I'm dropping Thistle', I didn't see the need to bring it up. o_oa But okay!

o.O My offering to let Thistle be deleted was unless it was okay to just stay OOC all the time on him wasn't clear? Especially since I was poked just a day or two ago about losing him if I didn't start RPing him? *rereads the @mail* I thought it was pretty clear, sorry.

I think it was the 'Say he ran off to Vector' bit that threw me off. X3 Sorry, I've been so damn scatterbrained the past few days.

Don't worry about it. This whole comment 'conversation' (not the you-part) has just been needless stress on top of everything else right now. Just let it die.

Ah, okay! Thanks. :)

And if you don't mind me asking, did the religious thing I posted last post offend you? You were the only one I worried about on my flist, but I thought it'd be okay so I didn't add a warning. Sorry if I misjudged!

Today's the first day I've actually looked at most of my friend's list in forever. I've just not had the energy or motivation to keep up with much of anything lately. Looking at the link, however, it is an amusing summation. No offense taken, though I appreciate that you care enough to be concerned about the possibility.

Hopefully they will! I had an appointment with a neurologist today and I'm getting an MRI next week, so I'm crossing my fingers we'll be getting some info that will enable me to regain some function in my life. The possibility of having MS isn't a fun thought, but at the same time, if having it and treating it will improve my life, I'd rather have it than not!

Ya I had always thought Adds was more of a WoW term and for FFXI is was Links. Oh well.

...Oh, maybe you're right! I could be getting confused.

I miss you, Mr. Galka! I hope you're still having fun on-game! *snugs lots*

Both are routinely used in XI, but WoW people don't seem to grok "links"

I love how the two games each have their own language. It's so interesting to compare the two!

You'll be happy to know the Thistle Brand pants worked well for the final ACP fight and we managed to win 1/1. Hurray! But ya, WoW people don't use "link" too much, probably cause they don't have exp chains, which is probably where it originated from.

But then again WoW uses stupid terms like toon...*rambles off*

Date: 2009-06-10 03:57 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com
Ha ha, the more I play WoW, the more "toon" seems to fit. The characters are walking cartoons! I hated hearing it on FFXI though, as those characters are so not cartoons.

And woo! I'm glad to hear you went 1/1!

For the record, you're not really levelling druid yet. You're levelling Corpse. Up until 40, expect to spend more time running to your corpse than playing.

Around 40ish you can spec Balance and start kicking a mountain of ass the size of the Death Star.

Oh god yes. Would you believe I died three times in the exact same spot? It killed me. Eh, literally! Literally in game, anyway. Finally I just gave up and went to do green quests until I get another level or two under my belt.

Feral's my plan though! Though I'm not sure if I'll be picking some stuff from the other trees as well.

Date: 2009-06-12 12:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] citizenbleys.livejournal.com
Feral is the least deathtastic spec pre-40. I'm not sure about post-40, though. Neither I nor anyone I talk WoW with has ever levelled Feral past 40.
