Now that's very odd. From home, http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/anything.html shows the custom 404 I made (http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/404.jpg). However, here at work, anything.html (anything not there) produces the non-custom 404 page. I wonder why...

Is http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/anything.html showing a graphic or the plain old 404 for you folks?

I think I have seen this before. I think it is specific to Internet Exploder. If the 404 page is "too short" in its judgement, it will give you the only slightly more informative exploder error page. Try adding a really long comment in your html?

For example, view source of LJ's 404:

Hm. They said it had to be a minimum of 10 Kb, which my image is over, but let me try adding a comment like that and seeing if it makes a difference. (Also, I use IE at home as well, and saw it there...)

Ah ha! That did it! You're the best. :) Thanks!

Yup, I think the 10K (or whatever the size is) has to be in the html itself (not including images) or IE will attempt to make the message more "friendly" :)
