I can't put into words how sick that makes me. Yes, Nazis did very bad things, we all know that. But did your mother never tell you 'Two wrongs don't make a right'? (God, look at me, this movie is making me defend them...)

PS: If you pronounce 'Nazi' as 'nasty', I have a really hard time not judging you.

For all that I think deposing Saddam Hussein was a good thing and that he was a rabid dog that needed to be put down, I am absolutely, 100% against torture, and that's what that movie seems to be espousing. It's disgusting.

I'm confused...Is this supposed to be a comedy or a gritty war movie?

Cause looking at a bunch of the characters and then Hitler at the end it certainly looks like they are trying to put comedy into it but then they are talking about ripping Nazi's apart and getting scalps and stuff.

I think it's to easy now adays to go "Nazi's evil, kill they ass" and then make a movie around that. I mean when I read All Quiet on the Western Front for a book report in grade 12 it seriously kicked my ass. I know it was WWI but I still feel its lesson can be applied to WWII since not all Nazi's were doing all the evil horrible things that the propaganda makes them out to doing (although a small group DID do those things). I'd much more like to see more books/movies follow All Quiet on the Western Front's lead.

Totally agreed. Making them all into the bad guys is the easy route, the cheap route... but it's also the route to selling many movie tickets. :/

Plus if you made a movie like All Quiet on the Western Front but for WWII and had Germans killing Allied Forces (regardless of how good a point you could make about "See they are people as well, war is bad!") your career would be destroyed, you'd be disowned by a large group of your peers, you'd get huge numbers of death threats, probably get attacked, maybe even end up dead because of it. At least, if it was made in America that's probably what would happen. Definitely wouldn't go over too well in France or Britain either.

I once read an article about how a great deal of cinema is that way. Nazis, DrugDealers, Orcs...every genre has a group where its basically a-ok to slaughter them en masse, and stack the bodies up like piles of firewood. There's a good reason pre-WW2 germany saw an entire nation in thrall of a few charismatic individuals -- humans like finding heroes, and cheering them on while they mow through crowds of The Enemy.
