So Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana is only 15? Ha ha, I had no idea! Hope no one was offended by the cherry post/image thing. The logic of it still applies, but still! Probably shouldn't talk about underaged girls in that way. :P *not a pedo!*

Woot!

Done though nothing but turning in blood, armor parts, and flesh in AV, I hadn't done a quest since pre-20!

I can has title!

Do people use addons for taking screenshots in WoW? I've never been able to get good ones. They always look grainy and low quality, no matter what type of file I save them as. (I don't think it can be my machine, my FFXI ones always looked sharp.)

The XP needed to next level goes way up at 70, huh? It's taking forever in AV now. zzz I've been 70 for days, even with adding Dal and Shatt fishing and cooking dailies in. Blah, 80 is going to take forever, but at least that'll build my HKs up.

100K HKs comes with "...of the horde" title. Anyone know if I can use both at once? "Ambassador Kianlar of the Horde"? Cause that'd be pretty cool. :D

From talking to people I work with who have leveled through BGs (a bunch of them bot but whatever, lets not get into that) 70-71 is the worse since you're at the top of the bracket. Apparently, once you get into the 71-80 bracket the EXP you can get from AV increases greatly as well. Off memory for killing that first alliance defender about halfway through the map you would get like 5.6k exp in the 61-70 bracket. From what I've been told you get ~19k (a quest turn in basically) for doing it in the 71-80 bracket. So, keep pushing, you'll get through that level eventually!

Grats on the title! Now go do the argent tournament! Chop chop!

Oooh, that's good to know about the XP! Thanks! And it's been a long time since I was more than mildly annoyed at the people who bot in BGs. Blizzard seemingly does nothing about them, so what's the point in getting angry? And it's not like I'm perfect anyway... (I don't bot, but I do slack!)

Now go do the argent tournament! Chop chop!

Wish I could! On my 80 I spent hours and hours trying to win the jousting. I finally made a post about it, people gave me all sorts of good ideas and videos and stuff, but I still sucked and couldn't win. :/ I've basically written it off! Only way I'd get to be champ is if I let someone else log onto my account, and I'm not really comfortable with that.

You know what you need? A montage!

I don't know, I think my strategy is pretty fool proof and safe, maybe it will work for you? I don't know but lets find out!

1) Start battle with 3 shields and use charge right away on whatever you're fighting.
2) Keep hitting stab (whatever 1 is I can't remember it's name lol) and don't move, just keep stabbing, make sure you're shields don't wear off.
3a) Eventually they will run away a bit, when this happens, charge as soon as you can! If you have to move back a little bit to decrease the time before you can charge, do that. (Some NPCs, the Champion of Thunderbluff for instance, won't always run far enough away to charge, so you have to make back when he starts to move to get the charge off.)

b)When you finish the charge you keep going for a bit, when this happens loop around so you stop right in front of them (Additional after practice) and keep stabbing. If done right they shouldn't be able to get off their own charge or shield breaker (since they don't do those moves while they are running away) and you don't lose you're shields!

Additional After Practice: When you are coming back around from the loop if you make it the right size you will be able to throw a shield breaker at the NPC while you are perpendicular to them. It doesn't work every time, but I find I can make it work most of the time.

4) Is the enemy dead yet? No? Go back to step 2 and keep going! Yes? Then...

5) Victory! Next enemy! Heal if necessary, keep those shields up!

Shields are your most important piece! If you screw up the Charge'n'loop and lose a shield or 2 (since the NPCs don't believe in global cooldown the bastards) then getting them back takes priority over the charge! IE, if they are running away and you have 1 or 2 shields, follow them without the charge and get your shields back. Get them with the next charge, you should be in no rush.

I've been able to take down the 4 champions for the daily without having to use the feed bag to heal me even once. The best I ever did was beating all 4 with still over 40% HP. (Thunderbluff Champion: 14% Silvermoon Champion: 12% Gnomerange Champion: 9% Ironforge Champion: 25%, I screwed up on the Ironforge champion) If I have to I will make a video to instruct you on this! We will turn you into a jousting champion even if it kabobs you!

I have a video made, and I have text for it that says what to do when, but I can't figure out how to make them become one. I'll upload the video without text for now, will link it when it's all uploaded.

If you can tell me how to make the text show up on it, that'd be good. =D I use Windows Movie Maker.

The only way I know how to do that in Windows Movie Maker is to do Tools > Titles and Credits > Add title on the selected clip in the timeline. Then you will probably have to clip up the timeline (which is easy) to get the words right and it would mostly just be tedious. Alternatively you would use Youtubes annotation feature and put the stuff on the video that way.

Funny thing is, I have the timeline and words all where I want them in WMM, but when I output the file, the words don't show. I have no idea what I'm doing. =(

Here's my video, no text though. I'll look into adding annotations later.

I think I know what your problem is with the Argent Tournament. It's because you're moving with your keyboard rather than your mouse. It's much, much easier to do with moving with your mouse and hitting the hotkeys for the attacks because of the way you can swing around so much faster with the mouse. Jousting is actually what's gotten me to move to using my mouse for movement a lot of the time.

So, try that. Zoom out as far as you can (you might even want the change your max distance to the highest possible), move the camera above you so you can see in a circle around you, and then move with your mouse. I think it will make a big difference for you.

Oooh, that's possible! Thanks, I'll give it another try doing that!

Ah, there's an in-game setting for that too? Some addon I installed must have had it as a feature, because suddenly after installing a few I was able to zoom out really, really far -- it was almost funny, I was just a tiny little figure!

I think it'll make a big difference for you. Trying to swing around fast with your keys while hunting for the right attack button to push with your mouse and watching what your opponent is doing...no wonder you've been having problems! I hadn't realized you moved with your keyboard when we discussed jousting before or I would have mentioned it. :)

And yeah, there's an in-game command for it. /console maxdistance 4.5 or something like that. If an addon has done it for you, though, then no need to worry about it!

You can only have one title at a time, or I'd be Crusader Despard of Silvermoon.

Questing isn't nearly as bad in Northrend as it is in Outland or Old Azeroth; most of your exp comes from quest turnins rather than farming kills so it goes a lot faster, too. Since you have an 80, you can get heirloom shoulders (+10% exp from quests/kills) and heirloom body (another 10%) and a Tome of Cold Weather Flying so you don't have to wait for 77 anymore--so you can blast through the quests.

Another option is to level a different character while in your 70s and just do some dailies for exp. I've got my DK from 74 almost to 75 now just doing fishing, cooking, and JC dailies in Dalaran. The rest of the time I split between my 80s and my lowbies.

Drat! There really should be an option for using one title on either side of your name...

Yeah, I got the Tome of Cold Weather Flying! So happy! It rocks being able to fly early, and it makes some quests easy as pie! "What? Go talk to that NPC in the middle of all those mobs? Sure thing! *flies over them all*"

Yeah, that's how my 80 got his last ten levels. :D Slow, but worked well!

For screenshots, I use Fraps. It's able to capture screenshots and record video in just about any game. The video uses a funky codec though for performance reasons and generates GINORMOUS files, so you'd need to transcode it for sharing it with other people.

Yeah, Fraps is what I use as well, but my WoW screenshots still look odd. *points at the ones in the post* See? Kind of... fuzzy, bleeding, not sharp like it is in the game. I've tried saving them as jpeg, gif, png... all the same result. :/

From: [identity profile] doxxxicle.livejournal.com
That's really odd. Capturing as PNG should be the best, in fact it should be exactly identical to how your screen looks because PNG's compression is "lossless" as opposed to JPEG's "lossy" compression.

Yeah, I thought so too... Oh well! I don't take/post that many screenshots, so it's no biggie.
