Life update

thistlechaserHaven't posted since Friday, but I'm still alive (or at least I still show up at work...).
I'm going crazy getting ready for the mother-visit. Shopping every day at lunchtime (Target today for a new pillow and some blankets, supermarket tomorrow).
Attempting to find and hide all the things she wouldn't like. She says it would make her very happy if I had no cookies or candy in my apartment, cause, you know, I'm fat, so if she doesn't see anything bad for me somehow that will make it better. I have a surprising number of books, toys, and art that are totally not mother-friendly as well. Eh, that's only partially TMI. She doesn't like me having "real" toys as well (figures and stuff). But, you know, I'm an adult women and adult women can fairly and not TMIly have "those kinds" of toys.
The ants have vanished, but I think it's only a retreat and not a defeat.
I'm getting lots of eye strain lately, something I haven't had since I was a young kid. I found some honestly good fanfics, so I'm looking at the monitor too much (9 hours straight at work).
Um. What else. In general, not sleeping (stressed to hell and back), but taking "PM medicines" help. Took some tonight.
If there's more going on in my life, I can't think of it right now. the MUSH is really busy, I'm not playing much Animal Crossing (there's nothing left for me to do in the game, it's sad, but it's also a relief -- one less thing I have to do).

elo_sf's cat a lot (she has the same cancer mine had). I hope she's doing okay. I don't think cyranocyrano reads my LJ, but if tersa can pass along good thoughts to him on his maybe-move, that'd be nice.
Wish the darned pills would kick in, took them a half hour ago and they haven't even taken the edge off yet. Oh well, got to get things done before they do. Be good, folks.
