Oldish, but wow!

I'm not a music person, so it's really, really rare for me to stay in the car just so I can finish listening to a song. However, this was the most unique, amazing cover I had ever heard.
Nine Inch Nail's Hurt (which I liked in the original version), but sang by an "old man" with an amazing voice. Listen for yourself:
Like so many DJs do, this one gave no credit for who the song was by, but luckily googling "NIN old man cover" gave me perfect results. The singer is Johnny Cash. What an interesting idea!

I am also biased because I love me some Johnny Cash, but I just felt that the song, being as bleak as it is, brings more to it when it's sung by a man who is 71, fighting his swiftly deteriorating health, and has either recently, or is in the process of losing the love of his life. (I am not sure when in 2003 they recorded the cover, but June Carter Cash died in May of that year, so), than a man who is 29 and has basically his whole life ahead of him.
No offense to Mr. Reznor, obviously, he was obviously feeling some serious pain at time or the song wouldn't be as evocative as it is. I just feel like Cash, being at the end of his life, brought more to it.

That's what decided it for me. You can hear the experience in his voice, how personal this was for him. Not to insult Reznor intended either, but I think Cash wins this one rather easily.
