Ellie cat seems to have short term memory loss. Whenever I come home from work for lunch or for the day, she seems to forget who I am and runs and hides.

You can't see me! I'm hiding!

I do believe that's also called the Ostrich Defense. :P

No, they keep doing it, they also crouch in plain sight sometimes as if they are in grass, it is hilarious.

Yes it is hilarious, they will sort of crouch down in against a wall and get very low and act like they cannot be seen.

One of my cats kind of does the opposite. When he's in a playful mood he "hides" in a not at all hiding manner whilst everyone stares at him until he decides it's pouncing time.

Literally everyone in the place is looking at him, me, the SO, the other cat...
