Oh Texas, never change...
Apr. 14th, 2011 08:41 amTexas does its very best to make sure people are educated about heterosexuality.
Thank you, Texas. TV, movies, books, and the majority of the world around me just weren't enough. Now there will be a place for me to go for "advocating heterosexual and traditional values".
Every time I read something like that, I'm even happier to be living in California.

Date: 2011-04-14 07:53 pm (UTC)On one hand as long as he isn't oppressing or trying to cure homosexuality or something crazy like that then there really isn't any reason he shouldn't be allowed to do what he wants. But on the other hand I highly doubt that it won't be used for oppressing the homosexual life style.
I guess it's because, in a perfect world, there wouldn't be anything wrong with it just being an alternative. But since we aren't in a perfect world it's going to be used for 'evil' purposes. People suck.

Agreed on your last paragraph. :/

As far as I know, these sorts of clubs never get money from the college. It'd be the same with an anime club or dance club or whatever other interest there is.
If funds do go to a club (sexual orientation based or not), then I'd totally agree with you.

Date: 2011-04-14 09:03 pm (UTC)If they did divide up resources, students won't really care. They'll go to whichever center has the resource they need. Only the complete nutjobs will refuse to go in the alternative center ("Its the closest computer lab to my next class...I'm not walking across campus just to use the hetero one." College students are lazy above all).
I went to what was rated as the worst public university in the USA for alternative lifestyles, but there was still experimentation of all sorts anywhere you looked. Good times.
And on a lighter note Navy cats
