Just because someone is better than you at the AH, does not mean that they are a bot or a gold seller. ><

My LJ is going to turn into Twitter if I keep posting short things. Too annoyed to type more though, grrr. I should keep track of how many times people tell me I'm a damned bot or gold/gil seller. Grrrrrrrrr. Idiots.

Edit: *mumble* I suppose this annoys me more than it usually would because while I was on my level 40 worgen, a level 85 belf DK made me flag by mistake (he was flagged and ran into a group of mobs I was trying to handle) and killed me, then for the honor and pride of killing someone so much lower level, he camped my dead body waiting for me to rez. My opinion of the WoW playerbase in general is currently lower than usual (which is really saying something).

Edit 2: Peachy. Now he (first guy) gets on his alts to bitch at me, mock me in /say and /emote, fake trade me gold, and crap like that. I GM reported him, it's just too bad the GMs do nothing about this sort of thing. Yay for /ignore. Damned idiots.

Generally if I get killed by someone and I go back and they end up corpse camping me I eat a spirit rez, go make a sandwich, watch some youtube videos, and then go back to whatever I was doing. The WoW-douchebag has a notoriously small attention span. Generally 5 minutes of not being a douchebag results in them flagging for a BG to yell at their team mates or going back to org to troll in trade chat.

This guy was such a winner. I did wait the five minutes, then switched over to one of my Horde 85s and asked him WTF he got out of killing someone so low level. His reply? "lol". *rage* He then told me he'd still be camping me, but his mother (who plays a gnome) told him to cut it out. So, apparently, he went off and killed other low level Alliance in the area using the same trick.

Seriously, WoW needs to be used as a tool to find out the people who need to be put down in RL. Grrr.

Dahhh! Mistake! Never, under any circumstances, interact with them. They crave attention, don't give them any at all.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. But it kills me! How could these people not have a sane, logical, well thought out reason for doing these stupid, stupid, stupid things! I mean, if they don't have good reasons, it means they just have to be that horrible and stupid!

Arg.

The WoW playerbase is going to be the death of me.

I've thought about it before (I try not to) and I work with someone who is almost on the same level as them (He'll camp the 85's, but doesn't understand people who camp the lowbies) and the best I can understand is it stems from a couple different places.

The most obvious is a power fantasy, that they have the power to ruin someone elses day is a trip to them and they get a big kick out of it.

Secondly it's possibly partly a self-confidence issue. I know my co-worker often brags about the people he kills and how he does in arena's as if to validate himself.

The scariest thing I've been noticing recently has started to stem around the "troll face" (http://toychop.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/troll-face-meme.png) images were it's starting to become the "cool" thing on the internet to be a troll (see: douchebag). The troll gets their hard on by basically being a douchebag (or feigning ignorance) until you respond and then going "Haha, I trolled you!" It's the new age version of a kid holding his breath until you pay attention to him. Eventually the kid will either pass out or realize he's being an idiot and stop doing it. But people pay attention to these kids so they just keep doing it for the attention.

If only they realized the opposite is just as true. You can get a big, giant, happy kick from making someone's day better, too.

I suspect that was what was behind the AH asshole I ran into last night, too. In addition to calling me a gold seller (which I had never heard as an insult before!), he kept logging onto alts and opening a trade window with me and putting all his gold in to show off how much he had. Then he'd cycle through all his various mounts. I think I wore out my /yawn emote.

You know me, I love AH PvP, but this wasn't that. You do not talk to other sellers if you're serious about this stuff! But with him, it was some kind of personal thing (which was really odd since I was far from the only person underselling him...).

I just wish these people would be nice. I know, that's not what so much of the net is about, but really. I can only hope that one day they'll grow up to become better people. See also: Thistle once more having too much faith in people.
