...and a bunch of people won't argue this.

I have more and more reasons to look forward to Mondays.

1) I spend all weekend working, doing unpaid work. 15-16 hours a day of MUSH and other online work. It's gotten way way old, especially when fully half the weekend I'm the only staffer online.

2) I'm a $&*&#&@ adult, why can't I feed myself on the damned weekend? I ate Friday night. I snacked a couple times on Saturday. Woke up this morning starving. Now it's too late to go out and get food because I have Sunday night MUSH work to do. At least when Monday comes I'll eat on a regular basis.

3) Likely related to #2, I'm surly as hell. I feel mean and nasty and short tempered and ready to snap at anything.

4) On Monday, the [livejournal.com profile] hp100 (weekly writing challenge, write a HP story in 100 words) posts its new challenge. Writing is scary (stop snickering, [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo and [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1! It is!), but doing it in 100 words is a whole lot less daunting, so I take part in it.

On the other hand, I do get to catch up on my sleep on weekends (8 hours a night instead of 5-6), so there is that.

erm, this is ENTIRELY offtopic, but i saw your comments on [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1's latest entry, recognised your name, saw your icon, checked your profile, and found that indeed you ARE referring to one of my favourite children's series.

naturally, i couldn't resist waving at you. i've had to spend ungodly amounts of money to acquire NEARLY all of clare bell's books...and it's not exactly every day you run into someone else who's even heard of her. so...

*waves madly*

Howdy!

Yes, that's where I get my name from. The books are great, aren't they?

You might like to know that she's intending to write more books, it's just slow going because she's doing a lot of other stuff as well. (She lives right close to me, and we've exchanged a few emails and stuff.)

that's wonderful news...i'd gotten the impression that she'd just fallen out of the habit of publishing anything. now i know better, and i'll be watching!

that's really brilliantly cool that you've talked to her, i wanted to for years but was too shy... maybe someday, though. ;)

Right now she's publishing a lot of magazine and newsletter stories. She's really into electric cars, so she writes about them frequently.

NOT snickering! Writing is scary and intimidating. But it's also so much fun. And I think the 100 word challenges are some of the most intimidating of all! You have to have an idea that's fresh and worth it and can be told in 100 words-- jesus, the pressure! So, give yourself a pat.
