Movie of the week, green beans, WoW

Movie of the week was Megamind. My day was really hectic today, I almost didn't have time to watch it, but I'm really glad I did! I totally loved it. It made me snicker/chuckle multiple times, which is highly rare for a movie. However, it wasn't the movie I thought it was. I thought it was the one where the bad guy ends up with a couple young kids and a bunch of little yellow minions.

Hmm, wonder what next week's movie is! *cheats and checks* Oh, huh, a non-movie. A TV show called Jeremiah. This could be either really good or really bad:

"Over a decade since a mysterious virus completely annihilated Earth's post-pubescent population, heroic survivor Jeremiah (Luke Perry) partners with cynical sidekick Kurdy (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) in the hopes of locating the magnificent yet potentially mythic Valhalla Sector. Based on Hermann Huppen's graphic novel series, this post-apocalyptic drama follows the partners through inhospitable territories and harrowing ordeals."

I do like that kind of story, so hopefully I'll enjoy it!

Alas I didn't get to roast the green beans today. Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow and they'll still be good (they're cut and washed, in a ziplock bag in the fridge). Serious stomach issues kept me from eating much of anything today. I should have gone out and gotten soup, but I was too busy.

WoW was an adventure today. I have such a time with realm/faction changes! The last time I tried to move Crow it took more than 24 hours and a call to Blizz. Today it took only a few hours and a call to Blizz. However, he made it! With his bags packed!

The load Crow carried from Horde to Alliance (I capped off his gold before he moved). A metric crapton of Horde-only pets and recipes. I bought all the lanterns that were on Horde side (1K H side, 4K Alliance!). Oddly the cost of the Argent Tournament pets were the same on either side, generally 4K for them all no matter which pet/faction faction.

Alas I kind of meant to get a second Vial of Sands for him, but somehow forgot. c.c I had a whole list of things to buy/do, but I never wrote that one down. D: Oh well!

All in all, I'm really happy he's moved. He looks so much better now, and Cata greens are cheap enough that he's actually out of his old Northrend/BC stuff. (Everything other than his gun, but it's not like he's going to do anything, I just didn't want the embarrassment of him walking around in such outdated, ugly stuff.)

Edit: And of course I forgot to mention the most important WoW thing. Thistle hit 60. FLYING, woot! Like all other alts, at 58 I stepped into the Outlands, spend three times the amount of time it would take to do two quests, and scurried back to the old world and finished to 60 there.

I haven't seen either of them, but I think the one you're talking about is Despicable Me, which I hear is also quite good.

Ooh, that sounds right! The commercials semi-annoyed me (I don't like cute little kids things), but maybe I was wrong!

I loved Megamind. I went into it just thinking it'd be a dumb movie to pass the time, but I've seen it a couple times now and I still think it's great. Amusingly, it's one of those that a lot of my guy friends like too, just because he's... like, your everyvillian. You know that given a chance to be a supervillian that's how everybody would act. It just looks so... so... fun!

Despicable Me was really good too, Alex loves that one, but they're very different movies. Despicable Me reminds me a little more of Up, that kinda heartwarming awesome, while Megamind was one of those kid's movies that has a lot of fun stuff for adults too.

Sigh, WoW. I almost want to go back to it, just for the sake of having something to relax with and take my mind off life for a little bit. I don't know what I'd actually do, there's no way I could raid now, and I'm not even sure I'd want to anymore. I really want to just sit around and level alts for no reason in particular... but I just can't justify paying $15 a month to piddle around doing nothing. We really can't afford it right now. But I do sort of wish...

Especially in the beginning, Megamind reminded me a whole lot of Dr. Horrible. I think I liked it for the same reason -- the bad guy was complex, not just all bad. (Not to mention, I felt really sorry for him! The good guy repeatedly screwed him over and still came out looking the hero.)

Okay, Despicable Me is in my queue now!

Could you try one of those free MMOs? It might not be the same as WoW, but it could fill in that need for mindless entertainment.

Yeah, the beginning was really good. And sad. I love "bad guys" that you can sympathize with - I mean, everybody has a story, a reason for why they do what they do. That's part of why I love ASoIaF, because it shows so many perspectives that you don't really have your black and white. Even if you don't really like a character you can have some understanding of why they do what they do.

Yeah, I've tried a couple of free MMOs and I'm actually given beta invites fairly often (Gods and Heroes just went into open beta, actually) partially because I've got a lot of beta testing experience and partially because of school. The problem is... I have no friends there, and a large chunk of playing MMOs for me is being able to get some of that "social interaction" even if it's just /whispering people. I like the shared experience with friends. So... oh well.

Yeah, agreed. I wouldn't be interested in MMOs if not for the people.

Did you see this week's GoT? Even knowing what was coming, it was so sad to watch. One more week left, then we have to wait a whole year for more.

Speaking of, I wonder if Weeds restarted? Funny how much I loved it at the time, now I can't remember hardly anything about it. Edit: Huh! Looks like the new season is starting soon. 6/27.

Stop reminding me! Bah. I guess there will be enough time to catch up with the rest of the books then. Also, doesn't the next one come out on like, the 12th of July (at least that's what my newspaper told me)?! That's pretty good timing for the end of the sseason/new book.

MMOs are just like facebook, except with dragon's and not asinine. You'd be bored out of your skull on facebook without "friends", same with MMOs.

Hmmm, I will have to go check out megamind. I remember seeing some stuff about it but the trailers were on both ends of the spectrum for me (one made me go "oooooooohhhhh" and the other made me go "bah!" so it evened out). Will take a look when I can. Although you should totally go watch Jade Warrior, because I just did and it was great.

I haven't heard of Jade Warrior! *googles* Huh! Netflix things I'll like it a lot (it predicts 4.5/5 stars for me). *tosses into queue!*

Ya, it was recommended to me by someone in one of the forums I visit in the movie thread. I think you'd like it as well. It was pretty good, just make sure you're paying attention.
