Strangest thing. The day after I posted about how slow she's improving, she suddenly moved forward by leaps and bounds. I can't pick her up much yet, but 90% of the time patting with both hands is okay. The biggest change is how often she comes to me for patting -- it seems nonstop sometimes! (Or perhaps she's just realized I keep her cat treats at my desk.)

Anything on my desk excluding food is fair game for her to steal. Below is a small collection of things she's successfully made off with.

Happily and luckily she never tries to steal food (other than that mayo packet, which I assume she didn't know is food). The bags of her cat treats are on my desktop, but she ignores her in her never ending effort to steal other things. My dinner could be on my desk, and while she sits nearby, she's never tried to help herself.

So, yay kitty!

Haha, you have a klepto-cat! It is nice that your cat does not try to mooch food. I can't eat at the computer without Sam I Am butting his fat head in. He would even slurp coffee if I am not looking.

Liquids are another story! I don't know if she's curious or actually drinking, but any cup or glass ends up with a catface in it. I had to buy a bunch of these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003H9NITQ) to use at home. (Which turned out to be a good thing, I like them a lot.)

But food, yeah. So happy she ignores that!

I have a few ceramic mugs that have a lid. I like my cat but do not need to be sharing drinks with him!

Heck yes. Cat drool (let alone germs!) does not improve a drink!

I think she probably just wants to steal more stuff in your immediate vicinity. That's what it looks like heh.

True! Maybe she likes the excitement of it, stealing from under my nose? :P

Danger is her middle name! Ellie Cat, Ellie "Danger" Cat.

Alternatively, maybe the kleptomania was a test to see how you'd respond? Perhaps since she's now claimed your stuff as hers, she feels like she has now assumed her rightful place as ruler of her domain.

Or finally determined you weren't just waiting for a good chance to make cat soup.

Ellie "Danger" New Cat. Has a nice ring to it!

Maybe she just doesn't like my desk. When she carries things away, she leaves them on the floor near where she sleeps. Maybe she's trying to get me to move there, too.

Or, your cat soup idea. One of the two!
