Boggling posts to log in to (RP, cat)

I logged in my AH mule and the first thing on my screen was this:


I peered. There is unfortunately a guild (Hotel Silver Moon) that likes to RP at the Dal AH. Annoys the heck out of me because the RP is just so very, very bad. Bad and spammy. If it were just one of those two things, it might be entertaining, but nope. (Though I have to give that person credit, this is the first Hotel Silver Moon person I've met who could type.)

Hm, I think that sounded grumpier than I am. It's been a nice, mostly relaxing, productive day! I got both new alts to 10, so their names should be safe since now they appear in the Armory... though when I was confirming that I noticed that as of today the Armory starts listing names with level 1. I wonder how that will effect the freeing name policy? /worry

I did a test with Ellie. Today, with no workman around, I picked her up and held her like I had yesterday. Unfortunately it was the same result -- her body was rock-hard tense and she flinched at every little noise. So alas, *I'm* the scary stranger! But no, seriously, it IS an improvement, I can hold her, so I'm going to keep at it and hopefully she'll soon relax. Small steps, small steps. Even a little progress is good!

Ellie will realize you are not that scary if you keep up with the holding practice. At the local vets, the ladies at the front desk were working on socializing a feral kitten so she could be adopted out. They wrapped her in a towel and were taking turns holding her all day. That way they don't get scratched, while the kitten learned that people were not going to eat her!

That's a lesson Ellie needs to learn! I'm going to add that into our routine now, picking her up couple times a day. Hopefully she'll figure it out soon!

I tried to get a name released a couple of weeks ago, and got told that the policy recently changed - if the account they're on is being paid for, even if that toon hasn't been logged into for ages and is under 10 or whatever, you can't get it released. :P Foo. But it means your toons are safe!

On one hand: Bah! Future name-gettings will be harder.

On the other: WOO! No need to rush to level 10 anymore!

I wonder if that's why level ones now show up in the Armory.

My scaredy girl is still not a big fan of being picked up, but she likes to come sit in my lap and she likes to be patted, and when she's sleeping on the couch or whatever she lets me PUT MY FACE ON HER, which is one of my favorite things to do to sleeping cats. I can't remember how long this took.

She's just not a big fan of being PICKED UP and held.

I love face-kitty contact! When mine is on my bed, I can bend over so I'm at her level. I think this makes me less scary, as she'll rub full-length against my cheeks (ending in HERE HAVE MY BUTT IS IT NOT A LOVELY BUTT?).

As far as I know it's done that since I started playing a little over a year ago. It just won't let you -view- anything lower than ten. But yeah, I think as long as your account is active you're safe even if that toon isn't played so much so you should be good. :)

As for Ellie, I know it's frustrating but it sounds to me like you're making good progress!

Once I ran through a cluster of them on the Isle of Quel'Danas. You're right in that this was one of the better typers.

And yay on kitty progress! :D Hopefully she'll realize that she can trust you and know there's safety in you holding her. Orrrr she can do what the scaredy horse I work with does and go "welp, whatever's scary will eat the one holding me before it eats me! :D". Either way is good? 83

Their DK leader is just the worst, then I watched them all /salute and emote showing him respect and I was all just " :| Seriously? You guys respect that?".
