An almost all-animal post!

Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas fully exceeded all my expectations. Usually when an animated series moves from the big screen to TV, they recast all the voices. Goodbye movie stars, hello people who kind of sort of don't really sound like the other person at all. In this case, they kept every single star! Plus it was really funny -- I laughed, hit rewind, then laughed again, over and over. If you liked the Ice Age movies at all, be sure to catch the Christmas special (I'm sure they'll be replaying it soon).

RP was a whole lot of nothing (and a whole lot of seems like something but was probably nothing). I had one scene with a so-so RPer -- Thistle mostly talks to her talking (sort of) cat while the girl sits to one side saying nothing. I wasn't joking when I said Thistle would make friends with a rock if given half a chance, he and that darned cat are friends. Somehow the scene worked, even though the cat only nodded and meowed while Thistle talked to him endlessly. (Which may prove a theory of mine: sometimes I think that I could actually RP with myself just fine.)

After that I waited around for a scene that started out really well but had to be retconned for OOC reasons. The plus side to that was I got to watch the Ice Age Christmas special, so woot. I would have rather RPed, and I think the scene would have gone really interestingly, but these things happen.

Between the two was a tiny little mini-scene. I swear, he was trying to send me hidden messages through his odd capitalization:

(Name) casually Leaned against the supporting pole, his fingers netted behind his Skull, Smiling all too freakishly wide at the male Mounted on the charger

(Name) Proceeded to stare at Mikha, His Gleaming Blue eyes emitting some ever-cheerful beaming expression. The Knight wasn't even Blinking as his grin widened Bigger and bigger...The chesire cat would be envious of such a smile

Tomorrow: I got a space in a midday Naxx 10 run! It sure would be peachy if the shoulders I want dropped (and I won the roll...).

I've got to say, I know I could RP with myself, so I'm sure you could too. The rule on PokeMUSH about how you couldn't have your own characters interact with each other always really bothered me. I had a recurring NPC on another game, the brother of my character, and their interactions with each other as well as whoever else was in the scene were always so much fun. It got to the point where I would often just give the NPC his own full poses because there was just that much to say and they were such separate characters.

We sure did have some strict/odd rules back then. I suppose we I had a reason for it, but I can't remember now. (Maybe that one person playing their mother/brother/aunt bugged me so much.)
