Quick post, for it is late and my belly is full of cold pizza.

First off, would you believe I got the sheep wand again? Second time in a row! So...

Now you can really pull the wool over our eyes, SPY!

I have so much respect for folks who did that back when it was current content! We did Heroic 10 man, all the bosses in one sitting, including the Lich King. I feel like an awful, awful person for killing him. If you'd just give me the spiffy mount, I'd be happy to go away and leave you in peace! Honest!

Surprisingly, we got all but 4 achievements needed tonight, too. Hopefully next week for them!

I only died twice, both on the same fight. (The three bosses, balls bouncing in the air one.) I give all the credit for this to the good explanations, heals, and being carried by other folks. I have to see if I can get vent working for next week, even if I can only hear and not talk, that should be something.

It was interesting to see all this. I'm not going to become a raider, but I like seeing it once. (Or, in this case, twice. We're going back next week for the achievements.)

And on a final note, [livejournal.com profile] veloxe was right. Everything basically came down to "don't stand near other people". :)

I approve greatly of Veloxe's instructions! Next time, I'm just going to macro that for the new people that come into the raid. XD Every boss fight, DON'T STAND NEAR OTHER PEOPLE will flash in raid.

All else fails, a new macro can be created: GO DIE IN A CORNER.

I don't think Jad will approve, though. :c

Vel is wise in the way of raiding!

Jad won't approve because everyone will yell that at him.

Raid: GO DIE IN A CORNER!
Jad: But... we're on break, I'm eating...
Raid: GO DIE IN A CORNER!

:D :D

I'd spam that at Jad, and encourage others to do so, if I didn't think Jad would tricks me on my shammy. :c I could escape his wrath on Aen, but Haizan can only, well, die and come back again. And maybe punch him in the face with a riptide.

Heeee. Blood Princes. :3 That was one of my favourites because it was such a high mobility fight. I think I'm one of the only people who like high mobility fights. XD And occasionally being the tank having to pick up the shadow orbs was really exciting.

I hope you get a chance to go inside the sword sometime on LK. It's an epic and yet nerve-wracking experience (or it used to be. I bet you can just breathe on the mob in there now and he'll over). First time it happened to me I was like OH SHIIIIIT. XD

How'd you like Sindragosa's voice? I find it's a love it or hate it thing.

If you guys ever put together a 'chieve run for Ulduar, I'd be so down for that. Rusted Proto-Drakes need lovin' too. 8D

From: [identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com
I had almost no attention to give to voices or any of the cutscenes/RP, but Sindragosa's was awful enough that it demanded my attention. :P I'm in the Hate It camp!

Once we had better positioning on the princes, it was fine. We started pulling them into the corner, but then we couldn't get in range to fight without being on top of each other. And I kind of never saw the disco ball on that one, I'm glad others paid better attention!

Talk to Jad and Felix (comments directly above and below yours). :D They're the folks running all this! Felix is justcallmefelix in Twitter, Jad is... SPY! :D

Dis pear will be my favorite saying, until the day I die. We used it so much back in WotLK, and it still makes me grin now.

I wish she was giving out pears during that fight. :c I've never been anything other than a caster in that fight-- for retro raiding and progression-- and I don't think there was ever a pull where I didn't have unchained magic on me.

Personally, I blame Jad.

Haha! Yes. When I did all that I could do on my DK and start druid healing in there the first time I healed that fight I was like WHAT IS THIS SHIT, since my DK was delightfully exempt from that nasty debuff.

WRRYYYY Sindragosa, why can't you just let me be great? :

We've actually just started doing the Ulduar achievos in the name of great proto-drake justice. Last night was our first attempt and we knocked everything out except for the Kologarn achievement (because I can't read, apparently) so we'll be taking that up with him this coming week.

We also had to leave Yogg up because it was three in the morning and the world looked like sound and tentacles and PLEASE STOP SWINGING MY HEALERS AROUND BROSKI.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure Ulduar is going to be our new thing now that we've laid waste to ICC and ran off with all the rp loots and mounts. This means that we'll probably be able to sneak you in. :3

If you want, that is. You don't really know us. XD

From: [identity profile] prettyredeyes.livejournal.com
I'd love to kick Ulduar over. :D My priesty doesn't have a nice Starcaller title yet. 8D

We did the drake achieve when it was still hard and for awhile I vowed to never meet Mimiron ever again under the conditions for that achievement. But sure standing in fire is somewhat less painful now... right? X3

I don't know you, but you seem nifty and good at lolraiding. :D I'll have to overlook the fact that you're a bad spy. :P

I did an Ulduar 25 raid on my Alliance Rogue a few months back. Apart from where I was level 80 and everyone else was 85 and I spent some time (the entire Algalon fight) kissing floor, we got the drake and the Astral Walker title all in one night and it stands out as my favorite raid to date. Lots of fun - so good luck with that!

Right, now that we have that out of the way! You did -so- well. And you can praise heals/explanations/other people as much as you like but the reality is this: you didn't die where some of my other raiders did (Sindragosa, specifically). You listen really, really, REALLY well.

Next week will be Frostbroods for the last few people who need them, yourself included. A mighty mount for a mighty...flowerchild.

Hmm...

Whatever, FROSTBROODS. \o/

I agree with Jad! Those who tipped over had been there before at least once, and you didn't. That is a victory that can be attributed only to you. You ever want another mount run, I'd gladly take you along for it. :D

Thank you! I'm pretty good at listening and following directions. My MMO background is responsible for that (FFXI was a brutal mistress).

I'm popping in to type this one-handed holding a very unhappy baby because I'm giggling at you. A post or two you were talking about nerfs to professions and how easy it was to get the title. Now you're facerolling through ICC. I never downed LK before I left, actually, because the fight was such a bitch, so hearing that you're doing it, I have about the same reaction you did to professions - "B-but! I did it when it was hard! No really, it was hard back then!"

It really was. ;_;

Date: 2011-12-06 05:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com
Ha, understandable! It really was surprisingly easy. What a difference five levels and a bunch of higher level gear makes!

I believe you! :D

And hope baby goes back to happy soon!

Man, I remember doing heroics when it was actually hard! Those were the days... In fact, thinking about it I think I only need the Blood Princes (that was a fun fight), the Frost Wing, PP, and Saurfang (our ranged DPS was suck so we could never do it).

Ya, I can't remember the number of times I had to tell people to move away from each other since bad things were about to happen.

Date: 2011-12-07 07:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com
I don't know how people raid without DBM. That little radar thingie that tells you if you're too close to others or not? Best Thing Ever.

I forgot to write about it, but I really liked the airship battle. Those rocket packs were fun!

Date: 2011-12-07 08:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] veloxe.livejournal.com
I actually turned off most of DBMs features after awhile. The only thing I really left on was the timers so I knew when things were coming. Generally I only really use it for a first time fight just in case I forget a mechanic or something but most of the time I didn't need it anyways. But it certainly can be useful if you have trouble keeping track of everything that's going on in a fight.

The problem people seem to have is they get their eyes taken by other things. Like healers get focused on the health bars too much. Or DPS get too focused on their bars/rotation and they just tunnel vision out everything else.

Can't really blame them but it's really annoying. Like when as a DPS I can call out things happening across the room behind me while the people who they are happening to get destroyed because they "didn't see it coming". It's annoying in FFXI but we can just raise them up but in WoW it's rage inducing when you've wiped a 3rd time in a row because your ADHD healer doesn't notice they are standing in fire. Or you lose half your DPS to some conal move and then the boss rages cause you can't kill it fast enough. Or your tank temporarily forgets to be in the right DK stance.... >.>

Date: 2011-12-07 08:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com
Oh yes, that's a problem for me, too. I have to watch my bars to know when things cool! And DBM! And stuff on the floor! It's no wonder I totally miss things like voice acting.

I think I'd end up with grey hair if I did this sort of thing on a regular basis.

Date: 2011-12-07 08:17 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] veloxe.livejournal.com
Bah I want to raid now...too bad I never really found a fun raiding group to go with. I don't mind failure as long as it's fun failure.

If you had started to raid more "seriously" then you'd probably end up customizing your interface to the point where you just look at one point in the screen around your character and see all the info you need.

Date: 2011-12-07 08:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com
That'd probably help. I never have a chance to check my focus (hunter), I just slam buttons and hope for the best.

Sorry for making you want to again! :)
