One. Million. Gold!

This has been my goal for the longest time, and I finally made it!

Christmas wasn't good just for retailers, the on-game AH was insane. All the pets I brought from Alliance? They sold out in record time, I have just a small handful left. I sold dozens of Alliance-only spiffy stylish black shirts. Lots of interesting things flew off the proverbial shelves.

The big-ticket items I brought from Alliance did just as well, mostly. Since the amount of gold I could faction change with was so limited, I had to buy things to resell here.

Reins of Poseidus, bought on Alliance for 68,500, sold for 82,000
Vial of the Sands (2), bought for 41K and 46K, each sold for 47.5K
Disgusting Ooze pet, bought for 7K, sold for 12.5K
Hyacinth Macaw parrot pet, bought for 17K, not sold yet.

I've always wanted that parrot pet, I'm tempted to keep it, but I'm not 17K worth of tempted.

Having money lets you do fun things! There's a fellow who farms for me, I gave him a nice holiday bonus. Plus I got to buy things for my friends. :) What was in Santa's bag this year? -- Kel and Trae should NOT click that link! I haven't caught up with you two to give you your gifts yet!

So the big question is: What now? I don't know. For most gold makers the answer would be "Two million!", and I suppose that's my eventual goal as well. No rush though, I'm not going to do anything different than I do now. I'd like to say I'm going to retire, because I'm 100% aware that this is more money than anyone needs in the game, but to me making money is fun.

It's not hard, anyone can. Watch the AH, look for things that are underpriced and list them for higher (I do that when bored). Think about things going on in the game, like transmogging, what could you sell that people would want for that? Think about holidays, too -- small eggs, which are easy to farm, sell for 1-5 gold each.

What professions do you have? Make use of them! :)

Fuuuu, is that really all they cost usually? I've been toying with the idea of buying one but I thought they were 150k+ and as much as I would enjoy having it (or the stupid turtle T_T) I was a little eh about 150k for a mount.

In other news, HUZZAH FOR THE AH AND ITS GOLD-BREEDING WAYS. \0/

They've fallen a lot. I watched that set on the Alliance AH drop from 325K down to the price I finally got them at. I think 68K was slightly underpriced and 82K a little over, but not 150K for sure. 150K is about what the lower end TSG mounts go for (mottled drake, rooster, crimson deathcharger), the tigers go for 300K+.

I was hoping the last tiger reins would fall far enough for me to buy (they started 325K and went no lower), so the value of these things really is only what one buyer will pay for them.

I suspect Poseidus doesn't sell well since it's a water-only mount. Make it air/flying as well and I would have kept it for sure. (Same thing with a magic rooster it took me forever to sell -- generally who wants a non-flying mount nowadays?)

And one other option -- sell it all to RMT, buy yourself something nice. 1M gold is easily in the $1500 USD range.

I know! Isn't that funny? While it's something goldmaking blogs recommend doing, I've never tried to get any myself. He approached me and mentioned I always buy his mats anyway, and asked if I wanted to just buy them directly.

And ha! I wonder if anyone in the game has 10 million. I suppose so, on the really active servers...

And yeah, I'm finally rid of my magic cock! Some guy on Alliance wanted it, so I sold it to him through the neutral AH, but I figured the fee wrong so I ended up paying half the fee... (which was like 20%, so lots of gold). Still a profit in the end, but what a pain!

Seriously, though, color me WAY impressed. I have a hard time keeping more than 30k across all of mine (lol, I think Alinor is at 300g), and have never been good at the AH game. :) You rock.
