Think it's just some (un)funny joke? The author, a "Christian cartoonist", wrote on his Facebook page:

The “truth” is that AIDS is an “elective” disease. It STOPS the day guys quit sticking it to each other. And for the tragedy of women and children infected— THAT stops the day their gay husbands and fathers stop cheating on them.
Anyone need MORE education, science or funding to understand THAT?

The author also complains about being "bullied" by the gay community on his Facebook page: "Like most bullies bluffs, the facts outweigh the fists: with almost 100 hissy- fits being thrown today only a couple of my calendars are in actual circulation. All the hysteria is coming from those nice folks who haven't bothered to actually purchase and read my collection."

At least only a couple have been sold? c.c

What the actual fuck. Fuck him for saying that shit, and I hope his career dies a slow and miserable death. If he turns into the right-wing cause célèbre of the month, I will scream.

Also, why would I bother to buy and read a collection like that when your front page is bigoted, and the shit you spew is stupid? I'll pass on being robbed by homophobes.

I don't feel the need to buy such a thing. I could look at the back of it somewhere and suddenly realize that I am NOT looking at something put out by someone that happens to like to dress and behave in a flamboyant manner without having any interest in the same gender. That could be cool.

I am amused that he feels that it would be ok for him to be bullied so long as we send him money. I have no idea how much I would have to send along in order to make what I would LIKE to say and do to this son of a gun acceptable to him, but I suspect that I don't have that much handy.

Now I'll admit I don't really know all that much about AIDS. I know it exists, I know it's an issue, I know that there is talk about the issues it raises in the gay community. But my brain shut off to protect itself after that second sentence. Like a reflex to prevent the rest of that information from being absorbed.

Not even going to devote the brain power to reading the rest of the quote, not worth it. Now it might mean I am less informed then I could be on the discussion. But I'm pretty good at extrapolating from incomplete data.

Not to mention he's one of those overly arrogant types who paints himself as some kind of hero/massive celebrity. I've never heard of this person before.
